Take over as the teacher of ten high school students as they attempt to find their way through life.
Manage and develop relationships with each of them in the fictional city of Kumon-mi.

Except for Chika as I had to do things with them if I wanted to be doing anything with another character.

There are a few points in the game that is tricky to pass. Haven't played it for prob half a year (waiting for enouhg updates), so can't help you on the specifics though I do remember the event you mention. I would recommend the online wiki site for the game, actually I'd call it pretty much indispensible.

Thanks for the advice. I went to wiki and presuming I need "reset" I checked and there are lots of requirements. Since I can't do literally ANYTHING anymore, I don't think I'm going to try again. It's just not worth the heartache anymore.

Yeah I think I hit that once. I'm not much for ones where you have to almost follow a walkthrough to prevent fucking something up. Not to mention the time it takes you to get back to the spot you were at. It's like time loop hunter. I use to play the game but you have a shit ton of stuff to try to remember and you spent more time trying to use a walkthrough then you did actually playing the game that I finally stopped playing it.

Right now I'm playing sensei overnight and as far as I know it doesn't have any bad ends.

I love this game. Have to add my 2 cents to this in the hopes I convince even 1 person to try this out.
I came for the fap material and stayed for the story and character development. Holy shit is it good.
Developer notes are important here. If you want a quick whack, not the game for you. You'll get some, best Kokatsu CG i've ever seen, but think of it as a bonus.

Just feel like adding a few things here; the only time you really need a tutorial in this game is for the notable puzzles. I think there's 2 major puzzles at the moment? The puzzles are .... events ... that put Sensei in a situation where your routine of chatting to girls and trying to get in their pants is suddenly rudely put on the backseat and you're going to have use that good ol' noggin a little. It's very obvious when you encounter a puzzle.

I believe this is the very first 'Puzzle-like' event that you experience in the game. Unfortunately, it's not what I'd call a major one, since the 'solution' is quite literally having the patience to repeat yourself for less than maybe 3 minutes repeating the cycle you find yourself in until a new option appeared and then selecting that option. That's it. You can pray to God too I guess.

Generally speaking, you only miss out on content if you're not developing your lust with characters. It's very obvious when you missed out on H scenes.
There's a progress Mod made by the community that helps perfectionists make sure they don't miss anything. Highly recommend that.

This one is a bit trickier and I don't blame you or anyone else for so-called 'fucking' this one up. Which to be clear, yes, you did, fuck you on behalf of Rin but also you did what I imagine most players did the first time they played as well so it's expected. This is one of the first challenges normal players of this genre will run into that will be a wake-up call this isn't your usual porno game.

To be absolutely clear, it was YOU who destroyed their relationship, not the MC.
Rin loves Chika, that's clear as day right? My memory of the start of the game is a little hazy, but i'm fairly certain she literally asks you, bro to bro, if you're romantically involved with Chika. She then asks you to keep it way until she has time to confess. You have about a week or 2 weeks until then. Then you go fuck Chika anyway and expect shit to be fine and dandy later on? Because it sounds like that's what you did. You're the one who did that, not the MC.

If you care about Rin at all, be a good homie. Don't fuck Chika. It's not hard, it's optional, you can fuck Chika AFTER and you don't miss out on anything.
You don't miss out of anything either by fucking up, to be clear. You've just completely betrayed Rin's trust and you'll get different dialogue but ultimately events don't change, you don't break the game. But you should feel bad because Rin is a gem and she needs to be protected. :'(

This game is a gem if you can actually invest yourself into the story and characters. Easily 10/10 for me. Good CG, good music, banging music even. (Some added to playlist)

If you visit the Shrine there's a incremental about the number of times you prayed to God. Do you recall if you prayed to God? If you did and you still couldn't progress, i'd be curious myself.

In a groundhog day style loop of the same day repeating over and over, instinctively, players should be interested in the one thing in the day that changes each day, right? ie, that incremental. It might obviously take you a few days to notice this incremental given the options, but it's also the only option with different text! So I spammed the shrine and watched that number go up and then eventually I could leave. For me it was minutes.

Apologies if you actually spent hours on it!
Definitely way more patience than me if that's the case because I break down after half an hour of being stuck on anything!
Hence why future puzzles were quite difficult for me but easier for others.

Maybe you did get the "Good Homie" version of the event then? To be clear, you can't change the outcome, in case you were thinking you fucked up in that way!

You can't force Chika to be lesbian, as hot as that would've been. That relationship was entirely one-sided by Rin and doomed to fail from the start.

If you fingered Chika in her dorm bedroom, you get the "Bad Homie" dialogue because by fingering her, Chika thinks you are her boyfriend now.

That being said; the consequences aren't game restart worthy. A little over dramatised.
Nothing in LiL will prompt you to restart the game. Reload, maybe, if you miss a H scene. Though very, very easily avoidable. Surprisingly so given the sheer amount of events / content.

I prayed to god multiple times. Maybe upwards of ten times. Just not worth even the possibility of something like this happening in a VN. I love H S Tutor, for example. I gotcha. Think you need 20+ if i'm not mistaken? I do get where you're coming from though. LiL is definitely atypical for a VN. Especially with the 'Happy Events' which sometimes have quite obscure trigger conditions, if a VN feels like you need to retrace your steps or do your homework outside of the game, I can definitely see why that frustration isn't worth it if you're not invested in the game before then. If it's any consolation the 2 later puzzles are definitely way more interesting / interactive than the "The world is broken" one. However, also way more challenging!

I've used a walkthrough 2/3 times for the puzzles. Which might appeal to some folks, but not me personally either despite my high praises. Still, I don't want these segments to detract from the story, they don't actually, they're thematically quite important in hindsight obviously. Regardless, it's a minor part of the overall playtime so if anyone else is reading this and aren't keen on puzzles, it's still worth trying out up to that point at the very least to see if the rest of it catches your fancy.

It's one of these games that started ok but became total shit very fast.
The grind was terrible.
The story went from fun to WTF is this shit.
I wasn't even close to being done with the existing content when the Dev decided to go back and redo some early stuff, I haven't touched the game since then.

The last time I played must have been around two years ago. If I remember correctly the then new things was the beach event. I really enjoyed the writing at the time and the strange presentation. I even sat down with a ASCII table to decode some of the messages. But it was a bit time consuming for a game that is supposed to get some of your steam out. Maybe I start another game some time. I understand there were some changes to the earlier parts of the story.

If that's what you're looking for then this is definitely the wrong game. That was never the point of Lessons in Love. If you're not deeply invested into the story and the characters then this isn't worth it.

The game is already insanely long and not even close to being finished so the "time consuming" part will only get worse and worse.

0.24 was the chapter 1 rework with a lot of stuff being changed. Here's what the author said at the time (november 2021 when it was announced)

Lessons in Love has been around for about a year and a half now and, within that time, I believe I have improved greatly as a developer in many different ways. I am happier with the current state of the game now than ever before and think the last several updates have been some of the highest quality of work I've ever put out for...pretty much anything. That being said, there are still many things about the game that I KNOW can be improved- and almost all of them come from the first several updates, when I was still figuring out how to use all of the programs and how exactly I was going to execute the story I had in mind. I was working another full time job up until version 0.8.0 and was never able to put in as much time as I wanted.

But, now that this game is my full time job, I feel that it is my duty to make sure ALL of the game is up to the standards I have set over the last year. But, in order to do that, a great deal of the early game needs to be completely remade.

For the guy that gave up, I recommended just use a walkthough. This is one of my favourite Ren'py games and I recommended you don't let the few draggy puzzle sequences ruin the game for you.

Is it a bit long winded? Yes.
Does the dev take himself a bit seriously and it drifts into being artsy-fartsy sometmies? Yes.

Despite these things it's a great game overall.

You come for the lewd stuff and stay for story with this game. It grows on you if you stick with it. I've played through it 4 times, which is alot given the length of it.
It's been a bit light on lewd stuff lately with dev drifting into thinking it's a novel again... but there's literally no other VN off the top of my head that's made me connect with the characters like I do for this one. The characters and story are very strong.

I'm currently waiting for a few updates to come out in a row before I jump back in. As the happiest I was playing this game was when I could binge it.
I'll give the $5 a month forever on subscibestar at this point as long as more content keeps coming.

I'm reasonably confident that Selebus (the dev) is not on LC and will never answer.

The game already contain some FF and MFF action. This universe only contains one dick and that's the MC's.
