futa and trans should be split i dont know why but i do like trans women with a dick but not futanari women with a dick and a vagina

For me it's the same, I don't like it very much. I think the difference between trans and futa is mostly a background, the futa is a woman with a penis, the trans is a man who became a woman or a woman who became a man. I also see that the trans tag is used more in games where the MC is more masculine, like an evolved trap. Futa is normally characterized by highly beautiful women who have a penis and vagina in many cases and in others have testicles as well. Therefore it depends a lot on your tastes. But I think it's good that a separation is made since that can lead to more games specially created dealing with the trans situation or with a trans protagonist.

TBH both should get the "gay" tag, too.

I think there's a distinct difference in context between futa and trans that has been discussed well here. However, the definition of futa in media isn't that straightforward anymore, I feel. It may have been a reference to hermafroditism but now it's a blanket term for any non-trans female presenting individual with male genitalia. I'm not talking about the difference between normal and "full-packaged" but distinctly that vagina isn't a necessity as long as the overall presentation is female. Primarily the difference to trans is that there is no "real-life-equivalent" transitioning that took place.

Put a futa and a trans side by side that look the same, if you like one you would like the other too, essentially there is no difference, just that in one you get the female reproductive system fully while also having a joystick.
In the end, it depends on the eyes of the beholders if they like what they see and want.

I'm into both, I'm pansexual so I really don't care if I date someone with a dick or not, I haven't played many games with trans characters sadly since I don't know any of them :(

I was so excited to see these finally split. Now it looks like it's being botched. A Futa has both a dick and a pussy, Trans only has a dick. Why is this so hard to understand?

That is the only def right?
Among western online audiences, "futa" became a catch-all for "any woman with a penis," regardless of the presence of a vagina.

The more tags the merrier. Being able to get exactly what I'm looking for is great.

This right here. As many mentioned, the rabbit hole goes deep. At bare minimum, the separation of the "Futa" tag from the "Trans" tag is a welcome step. If those mean two different things, then finding exactly what you're looking for requires that separation. The R34 popular tag classifications probably suffice, even though they're also a mess.
  • Futanari - Chick with vagina and dick, breasts. Sub-category for Full-Package (with balls, can be added or subtracted for refinement).
  • Femboy/Trap - A sufficiently feminine male who can easily pass off as a female at first or second glance. Even if only one tag is used visually (for ease of display), both should lead to the same results when put into the search bar. Reverse Trap, a female who can easily pass off as a male, may also be a separate tag.
  • Shemale/Dickgirl - A male with mammaries, essentially, or a female transformed in some way to fit the genital criteria. Dick with no vagina (balls and sans-balls included, as almost all have balls anyway). Typically feminine in appearance, presentation and demeanor. Once again, if only one tag is used, the other should be available on the backend for similar search results.
  • Cuntboy - A male with normal male features, except he has a vagina instead of a dick. Dick + vagina combinations could also be included, as well as females with flat chests/no mammaries and masculine appearances and demeanor. All combined is a fairly small results field so it probably doesn't hurt to keep it together, but they can also be separated.
  • Trans - everything else as a catch-all, I guess. Though sufficient definiton of other tags could obviate the strict need for it.

Right on. I appreciate the splitting of the tag, although I would define futa as having both penis and vagina, as opposed to animation type. I'm sure there are others that would argue even more, but that's where I'm at.

Thank god the tag is split here. Love both but they are different flavors, and feels like the trans tag would indicate more seriousness in the game which i don't always care for while trying to fap =/

It's fucking phenomenal as to why so many people are wrong or confused here with the internet being a thing. I look at it in a simple way. Trans with a penis is a MALE, either with tits or not. Futa is a female, originating from a hermaphrodite which has a vagina and a penis to the common futa nowadays with balls...but is still a FEMALE. The tags are nowhere near the same thing. I prefer female protagonist who fucks other females so futa is an ok tag for me. I don't like male protag so that includes the trans tag

@Xonia
I'm very glad to see futa and trans split into two tags, but you got the definitions a bit wrong, imho. The render style shouldn't have anything to do with it. Instead, it is about the realism of the character/the situation. Basically, trans covers the real-life situation of people being assigned a different gender at birth than they actually have; while futa covers a variety of fantasy reasons leading to a woman with a penis.

For example, my game actually has both: Some women have the magical ability to grow a temporary cock, and some women are born as a boy.

Given that context is important, I hope that you will listen to what dev's have to say on this topic about their own games.
It's nice to have the granularity, but it remains to be seen if the tags are used accurately.

Wait, hang on, let me rephrase in case you think this has anything to do with culture war shit. A trans female was born a male. A cis male was born a male. I meant I prefer not to play as anyone born a male regardless of what they identify as now. When I said trans with a penis is male, I was referring to what they were assigned at birth. It doesn't mean I have anything against what they identify as, I just prefer games where the female was female from birth coz it would put me off knowing they were born male. It's just a kink and not political. And I also don't blame you for judging me as It's my fault for phrasing things that way. I've watched 6 seasons of RuPaul's Drag Race and fucking love it. I've got nothing against trans, non binary or queer.

I should have said:

Trans: A trans female, which is mostly the type we see in porn, was BORN MALE. Currently identifies as female and may or may not still have a penis. I didn't refer to a trans male, who was born a female, because there is literally no game with this type of main character (which I would play because they were born female). I avoid the trans tag as the trans protagonist was always assigned male at birth when I checked, but the tag itself refers to both trans male and trans females

Futa: Was BORN FEMALE and was a hermaphrodite initially but started being drawn or rendered with balls, and is ultimately still female

So few people mention that trans underwent a gender transition to be either male or female while futa is always female. And it's for this reason that the 2 tags are completely different things

Futa and trans should be separated.
  • Futa = fantasy girl or hermaphrodite with both a penis and a vagina. The penis can grow by magic or similar (see the famous Bible Black).
  • Trans = born male with fake boobs and a cock and balls (and no vagina) that identifies as a female.
In 3D renderings I suppose a trans oriented story would present the character explicitly, or by picturing a more masculine "female" that has male sexual organs instead of a vagina. But a tag distinction is needed for clarity because many people looking for futa on female don't want to see trans or gay content.
