Futa vs trans tag

I get why splitting futanari and trans into two tags makes sense, for some people the difference is important. But a lot of people aren't going to understand the difference, and since it's such a touchy issue nowadays I feel like we're going to have to read endless arguments in every thread when one of these tags is deployed in a way someone disagrees with. I'm generally in favor of more specific tagging for fetishes (after all if a search tag is not specific, what's the point?!) but this one I am kinda dreading.

People who don't understand the difference can simply hover over the tags to get the definition. This can be done for all tags.

It's good to see the tags separated, but it should be split by the definition. Separating by style, which already doesn't make sense, only would make it more cumbersome.
I like trans woman, but I don't like futas that much. I just find weird when they have a penis and a vagina at the same time.
So if I want to find a trans woman game, I'll have to search two different tags and hope it is trans instead of futa, while if you want a realistic game, just search for the DAZ preffix or something.
It,s really dumb taking a foreign term that means something and stripping it of its meaning. It's better to have another term then.

What is your game?

I seriously thought I was on some heavy medication.... I want WTF you are taking if you believe they assign trans gender at birth..... You are born male or female and as such thats what your birth certificate says unless you legal change it at adulthood.. Some of you seriously gotta get your heads out of the clouds and get back to reality. I am not saying this cause of political reason or cause" its my opinion" I am saying it because it is the cold hard truth. It only becomes something else when other push things to make them "real" in their heads...
Well said.

@Xonia
I'm very glad to see futa and trans split into two tags, but you got the definitions a bit wrong, imho. The render style shouldn't have anything to do with it. Instead, it is about the realism of the character/the situation. Basically, trans covers the real-life situation of people being assigned a different gender at birth than they actually have; while futa covers a variety of fantasy reasons leading to a woman with a penis.

For example, my game actually has both: Some women have the magical ability to grow a temporary cock, and some women are born as a boy.

Given that context is important, I hope that you will listen to what dev's have to say on this topic about their own games.
What’s your game?

Well said.
The person he replied was right, though. "Trans" means they considers themselves a different gender than the ones they were assigned to.
And there are countries that do register people as intersex, and there are people who are intersex and assigned one gender, but naturally experienced changes relative of the opposite gender because of it.

At birth it’s either male or female.

Not really, learn to read:
And there are countries that do register people as intersex [...].
And the original poster didn't even said anything about it being assigned trans at birth, the one replied to that did. "Trans", like I just said, means they considers themselves a different gender than the ones they were assigned to, and that is a fact.

we allow controversial topics. Censoring isnt something we are fond of here.
We care about peoples beliefs and opinions.
We also will not allow others to bash others FOR those beliefs and opinions.
You know I often find myself sitting around wondering what the fuck happened to the good old days when if someone called you a faggot you just called them a faggot back. Now everyone is an adult baby addicted to censorship. Oh well I've had enough of warning people of the consequences that WILL happen when you censor people so good luck have fun don't bitch when Karma catches ya.

I like the Trans tag if they don't have both parts. Futa can mean either and I prefer when they don't. Gives you more options for the fetish

Anything with either I avoid like the plague. Note these games never have POST op...

I like both. I don't really care if they are women with penises or feminine men.

Futa means both genitals, but the term is indeed misused as to also means trans.
I like trans and traps, but don't like futas that much, and that makes it hard to search for games.

Yeah that is exactly why we separated the tags :) . It was impossible to find the one you were looking for with a hybrid tag.

But how was this separation? Because it appears that this thread was created solely because of issues on the classification. Was there changes on the way it was tagged? I don't usually use that much tags when searching for a game, so I don't know.

We separated it so that all games with a FUTA tag contain someone with a dick and a vagina. The Transgender tag has games that contain women with penises or vice versa. We know it's not perfect, but it's the best we can do for ease of classification reasons :)

Oh, so it is indeed correct! I'd wish that each tag had multiple subtags as to be really specific to the content, like on boorus, but I know it isn't viable, so that's good enough. Hahaha
Thanks!

What about dickgirls and cuntbois?

This seems pretty straightforward? They're both pretty distinct.

Futas typically have both sets of genitals, but are at least always femme presenting with at least a penis. They are always either their own gender or are essentially femme/woman/female gendered.

Trans refers to somebody who's gender does not align with their sex at birth. The experience of a trans person and a futa person, and thus the likely character development are going to be different. One is a fictional/fantastical construction, while one is a real thing.

I suppose you could have a scenario where somebody starts as a man or woman and becomes a futa and identifies as such. Then both would apply.
