So, I need to know if I'm about to do something stupid. I have an old dead laptop, (actually about 8 of them), that my kid messed up. Here's my idea, gutting out the old, out of date Mobo & such & retrofitting them with a Raspberry Pi. I know, the LCD, Keyboard & trackpad are going to be nightmares, but I think it's worth a shot. What do yall think?

I was still lurking very hard back then, but I do remember pigs coming out the wazoo all of a sudden....and being very confused why it was happening at the time.
