Well i guess in anyones eyes some of us are also ugly or just not their type and these characters in games match somehow somewhere - D
Would be boring if you play as hot as fuck character who gets all the girls easily

its like in school when someone who isnt that beautiful gets a real 8/10 girl and everyone wonders how he fulfill the goal

Yup, I know this is a controversial thing to write about but I'm curious... what do you guys think about the infamous ugly bastard characters that plague H games?

Me personally, I love them. There's just something about a really repulsive looking character (the ugly they are the better) having his way with a really attractive character that just completely does it for me.

Depending of the game, in rape type game, i like when the protag is a ugly bastard, match the physical uglyness with the mental one, i guess.

I don't care if the best chef in the world used the best ingredients in the world and the restaurant set the table with the most elegant decoration in the world and the most beautiful music in the world was being played live in the venue by the best band of musicians in the world

As an ugly bastard myself, I feel that representation matters. I see all these ugly bastard plowing their way through the female cast of these games and it gives me hope that someday I too will fuck pixels endlessly.

Call me a romantic but I usually prefer when LIs actually like the character I'm playing as. These games are a fantasy, why would I fantasize about being ugly and a bastard?

I've played a game or two where the ugly bastard was an element that furthered the trauma of other characters and I enjoyed it for that. On its own though no, I'd rather avoid it.

A bit cliche when ugly=bad and handsome/pretty=good. Often doesn't work like that in real life, and isn't realistic or believable in VNs either. For stories and characters to hold the attention of the reader, there needs to be some element of realism.
