discussion How big of a harem is too big?

Harems are pretty popular, but what is the right number of girls in a harem? Can it be too big? I think harems are too big when it feels like you have to choose between girls in the harem, or you only ever see a girl when you're having sex with her. I personally like WVM but I feel like it may be pushing that limit. How big is too big for you, and have you ever lost interest in a game because the harem got too big?

I think a harem is too big when it consumes a lot of ram (koikatsu) or when the game mechanics make it impossible to keep everyone "happy".

4-5 at most. Any more than that and it seems like I need to wait for update after update to get back to a characters I like.

I think 5-7 is around my limit.

I agree around 5 is already plenty big, but, not so big, you either, never see a character again, or even forget they exist in the first place.

In a piece of media, as many as can be allowed by a good writer. In real life, probably five. One per day, a joint event on Friday or Saturday, and a break from everyone for one day unless emergencies, birthdays, or anniversaries.

Part of me wish we can have a game with a galaxy spanding empire conquering alien worlds and getting planets worth of alien women as tribute for my Galactic Harem. Like really pushing how big you can make your harem.

No limit, it's just when you introduce new ones. If every girl has a story and things to do, I don't mind a harem that never ends.

WVM seems like it's written by a meat head. So, I doubt it's overall justified but I could be wrong.

I don't think there is limit on size. I like to have a nation of harem so for me, to be surrounded by all the cute harem is not something I can ever deny. This apply in gamine, in rl events and just is good idea to ban all clothes and collect someone to add to the pile as life continues. Maybe 100 to start with and then go from there. Ultimate goal is 5 million before I died lol. No need for names. Just always fun
