I've always been a fan of star wars, but old star trek was pretty good as well, I remember there was a crossover between star trek and xena the warrior princess at some point 💀

Maybe in a dream you had while high on crack? 😶‍🌫️

Or maybe in some comic book or other, or some terrible fanwank fiction. Definitely not ever in live action. :ROFLMAO:

Definitely Star Wars, I don't like star trek at all but, to be fair, I didn't happen to watch it as a kid while I was a huge SW fan my whole life.

I'm also sort of a Disney sequels apologist. My biggest issue with them is crapping on the OT's happy ending and missing the chance to do more with the og cast but they are way better than ppl give them credit for.
-ep 7: decent
-ep 8: amazing (fight me)
-ep 9: yea ok this one is bad. Plot is ep 2 lvl bad but it has some redeeming qualities

wholoe trilogy:

-Far and away the best acting. not even remotely close
-The 4 main new characters were interesting and likeable (and good casting choices)
-Every scene with Mark Hamill in The Last Jedi was peak Star Wars
-Funny (this is subjective but I don't remember any of the jokes in ep 1-6 landing while the new trilogy had some good ones)

I argue that most people forget these are movies for kids and get disappointed when they don't feel the same "magic" they felt watching the OT growing up.
I mean, I love the original trilogy too but let's face it, it's not a cinematic masterpiece either. If you apply the same nitpicky rage that the sequel trilogy faces to ROtJ it falls apart super fast.

Stargate Atlantis > Battlestar Galactica 2004 > Star Wars > Star Trek, there are more to keep going but I like those in that way

I'm one of those guys that loves both. I'm a huge Scifi need, so I read the shit out of books, and watch the shows and movies.

I'm a huge Star Wars fan, because I love the Lore and the Universe, but the idea is better than their presentation. We have some gold when it comes to shows like Clone Wars and The Mandalorian, the games I love most of them. Now, the movies I only really liked the OG Trilogy, Episode 3, and Episode 7. I also liked Solo, which I didn't think was bad, and the Swamp Trooper suit was badass. Rogue One I thought was great.

Now Star Trek, I like as well, but I'm a bigger SW fan. Star Trek has been consistently better in my opinion, with some exceptions. I love the original and the movies, including the reboots. I grew up watching TNG, Voyager, and Deep Space Nine, and still love them to this day. Which is conflicting, because realistically and logically I should like ST more, but I still deny it to this day. I like that ST is more diplomacy, over conflict first. Even if most of the situations take a spin.

Both are no longer good …. Original of either is great. 60s Star Trek is awesome… as a 10 year old in the v early eighties I was in danger of sliding towards that new thing called Dungeons and Dragons…. But a few things happened just before I turned 12…I saw Princess Lea in a leather bikini swinging on a rope … Captain Kirk chasing intergalactic mini skirt on tv re-runs, and Mad Max on the new fangled VHS machine….

I sold my D&D books, Refocused on cars and girls… if I had the girl focus on cars, if I had the car, focus on girls!

None of the new stuff will have that effect on any 12 year old bloke.

Princes Lea was a role model and a leader surrounded by (roguish, dashing but nevertheless) buffoons . Current DEI Disney is crap… as was the last multiverse time jumping woke Star Trek I tried to watch.

Sure Mandalorian was good, but rare amongst the recent stuff… Ashoka was terrible, I gave up after that….

Old Star Wars, new Star Trek movies. I also really liked the "new" Battlestar Galactica series.

I consider myself BiTrektual but always preferred wars but post Disney wars has been a bit of a shit show.

Star wars fan, but to be honest i never really actually sat and watch star trek. Lightsabers are fun to watch and the noise it makes is music to my ears. I know most people like the first three, but im a huge fan of the prequels. Droids are just sick af.

Both Star Wars and Star Trek are iconic franchises, but they cater to different tastes.

  • Star Wars is more of an epic space fantasy with grand battles, emotional storytelling, and themes of good versus evil. It’s fast-paced and focuses on action, adventure, and the mystical Force.
  • Star Trek leans into science fiction, exploring philosophical questions, diplomacy, and humanity’s future through a more optimistic lens. It’s about discovery, exploration, and moral dilemmas.

i think ultimately Star Wars, although i go through phases where i prefer Star Trek. plus Star Wars has a bigger fandom to interact with so that's a plus

star wars (mainly because i havent watched star trek) i probably did but forgot everything

Classic Star Trek and Star Wars are both great. The new stuff both suck.

I used to be an avid star wars fan, but in recent years I've felt more compelled towards star trek.

IMO star wars has really gone down hill in the past few years. It's not even the "woke" stuff, if that's what bothers people. Though I'll admit there are a lot of unecsarry things added ranging from relationships to equality. Im fine with lgbtq, and equality, but disney star wars makes to much of a big deal out of it.

For me, stars peaked at the clone wars, snd rebels animated series. From there it's been a slow degrade over time.

I am completely new to star trek. It is an interesting show, with much to clearly offer. So I am as of now enjoying it, though I have little to say from my lack of knowledge and experience with it.

If we are talking the setting and lore of the universe then I would give the nod to Star Wars. As far as the original content put out I think Star Trek Next Gen mogs most Star Wars content.

Having said that 40k > all other sci fi universes.

Don't know anything abt star trek but star wars sith/jedi storylines be amazing.
