Yorkshire pudding isn't really a sweet thing, usually goes with roast meats, veg and gravy

It's better than the one european pudding I know of, Black Pudding, that appear to be an oatmel blood sausage. Hahaha
It's just like HTYYHRK said.

And Pudding in UK English is practically a catch-all word for food, it's the name for a ton of different dishes that don't have anything obviously in common (Google says it has to do with the cooking method) (vs US where it's a specific kind of dessert).

I quite like black pudding, goes great with a fry-up. Don't forget about white pudding, basically black pudding but without the blood.
