I'll usually do a a bit of taking the story slow, edging as I go until I'm so turned on I've got to get off. Also I'll save all of the scenes I want to revisit (especially with really good renders/animations).

Unless it's a lot of talking and story advancement, then I stop. I guess unintentional edging is a thing too

My friend on the other hand likes to pace himself and save the game as long as possible. He does it when he gets to a scene he likes and does it and will pick it back up at a later time.

More like your friend, I like the scenes the first time i see them, but always make a save if there is no gallery. There is some games that I refuse to erase because i like some scenes

I always go through the game very carefully, I always read the text carefully, I don't rush into anything. I ignore kinetic novels, but in games and visual novels (where choice matters) I enjoy the process of gameplay and interactive interaction with the characters (so the characters must be well developed). Sexual content ranks somewhere in third place for me.
As an example - in a game that is at the top of my favorites list, the first sex scene happens only after four hours of gameplay, and you don't pay attention to it because the story is so addictive. Another fun fact is that out of several potential LIs you can only choose one(!), no harems.

If the game is doing it's job surely you can't wait till the end. I rarely visit the gallery after the game is completed. If I do the dev did a great job. Going back just isn't the same.

If it has good writing I sit and take it in. If I have a connection with the girl it makes it way more enjoyable.

whenever a great scene appears, although you can replay that part, the first time happens always hits better than the repetitions

When it triggers the flood i prefer to solve the problem with someone...if noone is available i prefer to watch selfmade videos until i'm done and then go back to playing.

Yeah, that's pretty much me. I've had times where i've accidently gone over the edge and it wasn't even at a good time lol.

The absolute worst. Because then all you can do is either quit and pick up where you left of later while left feeling unsatisfied and wondering what new content you;re missing out on, or keep going when you're no longer in the mood and just feel bad about all the new content you aren't fully enjoying.

Boils down to how invested I am in the game, and how long the updates usually are. Usually I'll just go along, fap to the scenes, edging or busting depending on how hot/long they are.

If it's a VN with a gallery and way too much dialogue for my taste though, then I'll just play through it one night and then come back to actually enjoy the scenes another day.

Generally I just go with the flow. I'll start working on it if it gets hot, and then just let it happen when it happens
