Sometimes I'm surfing around on rule34 or gelb and wondering why everyone is trying to be so damn edgy.
Then I remember I was once 17 and had pants with 24 zippered pockets.

Man, pants with multiple pockets were so good. When I went to school I could walk with a lot of stuff without even using bags or the hands.

There was a scene in "leverage" that I never understood until I saw it in English. The words were right in the translation, but the meaning, pronunciation and inflection behind them did not translate at all.
It was the worst possible literal translation they could do, almost as if the person reading the lines did not know what was going on in the scene.

Translators around the world are still having nightmares with this single sentence.

IF I'm not "invulva'd" it just seems like a waste of my time.

The question that rises if you need to project yourself in any piece of fiction you consume to be able to enjoy it. Any movie, any book, probably not. Why porn should be different? It's perfectly possible to be enjoying something without the appeal to be doing what you are watching. Let's say a lesbian scene if you are a male, doesn't it turn on? Are you projection yourself in one of the women? I don't do that, I just enjoy it because it's sexy and I don't want to interfere on what they are doing.

We were actually talking about regular porn. In games I like the "faceless MC", but there are some that I like that there is no way I feel identified with the MC or any of the other character on them.

I think as well if the protaganist is presented with choice then you as the reader/player get self inserted into the story. Otherwise without choice you can view the storyline as an observer. Once you are presented with choice then you have to play as yourself or roleplaying the MC.

Ouch, replacing platters is not cheap or easy. They have do that in a clean room, because even the tiniest speck of dust could ruin sectors of a drive. They they have to put them in another drive a platter at time and retrieve data and if you FAT is corrupted- you're done. It's just going to be a garbled mess of rubbish.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's all over IF an SSD fails- hopefully they last longer than one with moving parts though. If you drop it...it should still work. An actually HD even if there's no power and you drop it... 70/30 you're done.

this is true. My friend actually changed his on himself and it worked but yes, needs to be very careful and yes, it can all get corrupted and just trash. This why I smash them, except that one that I told them I need the data, payed lot of cash but the data was recovered thank goodness, but others I just destroyed so no one can ever even reassemble them. I think so too. I was told if SSD fails then it is completely finished and if anything is there too bad, but they hardly will ever break under normal use. No moving parts is helpful

DMA = was "Direct Memory Access" and was more like a timeshare for when and where data would go.
Back in the "OLD" days you had to fiddle with those 2 for hours. You want a mouse OR a keyboard? Do you want sound AND a mouse? Do you want the Master or Slave drive to be operational? You kinda just had to pick and mix until you got everything to work... GOD forbid if you wanted something other than the onboard GPU or the sound from the motherboard. I remember trying to get a SoundBlaster32 and a Radeon Video card to work for close to 3 hours (AND you had to change jumpers on your motherboard for different voltages for add-ons). Just to play "X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter." Oh happy days.

Do I have to project myself into fiction to enjoy it? Absolutely.
It's tough going since I prefer villains to win in mainstream stories. I couldn't give a fuck about almost any heroes. It's similar with porn.

The issue here is many games that give the choice to rename the MC then fucking show the MC face in almost every single frame, making hard, at least for me, to project myself there. For example Vinovella games. I'm not saying the MC should be faceless, but at least don't abuse of overexposure.

Yeah, my point is how people are hostile with game that don't meet their criteria. I've seen countless of female MC games that have a lot of people complaining in the replies.
Since you compared it to food, for me it's like going all the way to a vegan restaurant and telling them they sould serve meat because of what you like... (And I do like meat a fucking lot, but let people have different things!)
