Once you are presented with choice then you have to play as yourself or roleplaying the MC.

The issue here is many games that give the choice to rename the MC then fucking show the MC face in almost every single frame, making hard, at least for me, to project myself there. For example Vinovella games. I'm not saying the MC should be faceless, but at least don't abuse of overexposure.

We were actually talking about regular porn. In games I like the "faceless MC", but there are some that I like that there is no way I feel identified with the MC or any of the other character on them.

I like watching it all as observer, it's the reason I was always bothered by silent protagonists, that won't have any trace of personality, common in RPGs and such.

I think as well if the protaganist is presented with choice then you as the reader/player get self inserted into the story. Otherwise without choice you can view the storyline as an observer. Once you are presented with choice then you have to play as yourself or roleplaying the MC.

My choices are always a mix of "what I want" and "what the character would do". Depends on how I'm feeling it.

Now, do a test. Substitute "game" with "food". Now go and tell other people how to eat their food. That's wrong on BOTH sides.
Now if you check my post history, for example, I HATE NTR. I ALSO said that I hope there's a lot of good humiliating NTR games out there for other people.
Don't fuckin' ever expect ME to try those games.

Yeah, my point is how people are hostile with game that don't meet their criteria. I've seen countless of female MC games that have a lot of people complaining in the replies.
Since you compared it to food, for me it's like going all the way to a vegan restaurant and telling them they sould serve meat because of what you like... (And I do like meat a fucking lot, but let people have different things!)

And yeah, I get really fucking defensive with any post that say (paraphrased) "You shouldn't enjoy that." Apologies if I crossed the line.
I also crossed the line in my youth when people took or added stuff to my plate. The board rules prevent me from giving details of my response back then.

I hate games that force you to name the MC. Time and time again I had to edit a save because another character appeared and had the exact same name as me, and it made it confusing as hell.

Kinda off-topic, but I consider myself "nerdy", and yet I've never read nor watched LotR... I did read Hobbit, but didn't like it, so I kinda didn't feel like reading more Tolkien.

I mean, to keep with my NTR example: There's an NTR tag. The game called (making it up) "None of my wife's kids are mine!". And some people complain that the game has NTR.

Like... WTF... man? I'm French. English is my second language.... and *I* know to avoid that game.

Hobbit and LoTR can be tough because they get built up so much that its hard to live up to the expectation.

Did the same with the Hobbit around the same age. Never tried LOTR but did smash the Game of Thrones books when the hype was at its peak.

Yeah, I can agree when the game suddenly shifts direction, but sometimes the clearly states what is planned and people are still mad about it...

I was in highschool, almost 18. Maybe that's why? I've heard people say that Hobbit, unlike Tolkien's other works, are a children' book. I remember didn't liking the narrator, but not much more.
To be honest, the only time I truly read books was that same period, because I had a crush on a bookworm girl.
Aside from that, I've only read some small book from a local author. But I don't have anything against it. I've liked some fantasy shows and whatnot.

Unfortunately, some devs are assholes (or funny depending on who you ask):

On April 1st (shouldda been a sign), a standalone single release KINETIC game called My Wife Is A Hoe That Gets Used By Everybody [Moonbox] was released. Moonbox is a dev KNOWN for Gary Stu fall-on-my-dick-at-first-sight VN. There was also a distinct lack of NTR tag.

Spoiler: Spoiler just in case you want to find out for yourself

The wife... was a hoe... as in a garden hoe... that was used... FOR GARDENING... by everyone.
Then, in giga-chad manner, the MC cucked all the bad guys, reversed the spell, got every female pregnant, was elevated to godhood or some shit... the end.
Moonbox didn't lie... but I actually didn't like it because it'll open the doors to the reverse. Just fucking make products as advertised. That's all I ask.
