If you participate in any of the many contest that take place in the forum is quite easy to earn LC coins, and low interaction in the lurkers thread also give quite a bit.
There is even a "straight up get P4" contest every now and then. I took part in one and even though I didn't win I got a couple thousand LC for the effort.

P4 farm all the way do it for Science and AI

There is no need to farm for coins, they are easy to get.
