You can post anime smols and there are smol games in + section but they are nuking anything that even smells like AI. I understand they're under fire but that's why I'm keeping distance for now. No need to pour oil in the fire and it's NFA policy anyway.

I'm definitely in a state of caution for this site right now. It feels like the site is going down the 'safety over freedom' route where anything that could even potentially be an issue will be censored. I hope not, the freedom of expression was one of the reasons I wanted to stay active on this site.

If things don't have meaning then it's anarchy. Caduceus is the Rod of Hermes which had nothing to do with medicine. Asclepius was the Greco-Roman God of Medicine. Caduceus has 2 snakes and wings, the Rod of Asclepius is one snake wrapped around a rod.

Since meanings change a fork is now a spoon and a spoon is now a fork. So now everybody in the world eats soup with a fork because "meanings change" and nothing can possibly be wrong because "meanings change" and I just arbitrarily decided to change it because apparently that's the power of revisionist history.

It's not like the Mods woke up one day and thought - "Fuck it, let's nuke some shit". They're responding to a report and, due to the nature of this site, these things are very, very, very serious.
You'll notice they haven't nuked everything that isn't public facing. It's just the stuff in these open areas.

It's only wrong in reference to the original Greek mythologies.
It's not wrong these days, since the meaning has changed and it's been adopted by healthcare.

The Swastika is a famous Nazi symbol to most people in the world.
It's also a symbol of Buddhism, Sikhism, and Jainism.

Symbols can mean different things to different people. The use of Caduceus was originally a mistake, but years later, it's not. This box of "Tucks" hasn't been made by someone who "didn't do their research" - it's used the branding of their own healthcare.

If meanings change then nothing means anything because you can't ever be wrong if you try to justify being wrong as simply "meanings change". Hospitals around the world use both because one is right and the other is people being stupid and picking the wrong one. If you wanted to argue that they magically switch then no hospitals anywhere would use the correct Rod of Asclepius, they would ALL use Caduceus. "Meanings change" is just a way for people to justify being wrong.

Example I can't just arbitrarily decide to replace the letter y with an x change x to z, z becomes y. Everybody would agree that it's wrong because things have meaning they have to or it's anarchy.

It's a language built from the foundations of Old English, which began from the foundations of various Germanic dialects mixed with Latin and Norse influences— layers upon layers of evolving meanings over centuries. So, the very nature of language is rooted in change and adaptation. If meanings "Can't change", then we're all a bit screwed when it comes to conversation.

To be fair, the "government" (very dependent on which one you're talking about) can not randomly censor websites. If there is illegal content (which some of the stuff here got quite close to) it's a possibility, but Art in general is not and can not be banned, therefore the current rules on "0 AI" within this board have to be respected but are certainly not backed by any laws (in any country that I am aware of).
I agree and have said it before, we need to respect the Mods' actions and rulings to protect themselves and this website, but currently there is a lot of collateral damage. I think this is all that @Grim21 was trying to say.
