I've seen maybe two games that might fit the criteria but for any developer or publisher to make a 100 million dollar adult game no.

The publicity, backlash, and other factors would scare investors. Basically to high risk to even try.

Which is a double standard just look at The Witcher or any GTA game for reference.

with way things are going for devs across all platforms chances are slim or non existent. some sex scenes where you mostly cant see whats going on sure, beyond that not. its too big of risk factor for them.

I'm surprised by how many are saying no to this question. For me, it's absolutely inevitable, purely just a matter of time. How much time? Not sure, but attitudes can change quicker than you think. Lots of things (in gaming and in the world) have gone from being unthinkable and outrageous to normal in a matter of a decade or two.

Yeah the sexual revolution happened in 1960's but the vast majority of Americans are still conservative about nudity.

Sure strippers half nude but still clothed, drug use, any type of murder, a ton of profanity, but nudity hell no.

Highly doubt it will happen anytime soon. The market for AO rated games is pretty narrow to begin with and while the world in general is moving to a more liberal mindset, there's still plenty of conservatives who won't stand for a porn game being sold so openly. It simply doesn't make any sense in both finance and PR to dedicate the amount of production a "AAA" game needs to make a porn game.

Good funding is the only wall between a Great game and some unknown abandoned indie project

Some countries wont allow it to be sold, also have pirates not paying, so just how much money will a studio make ? I cant see any studio risking a backlash from the public just to make a few dollars from a porn game

I think it would have to be something done by a major porn rather than gaming studio, maybe featuring one or more of their actresses.

There won't ever be a AAA porn game. Lewd games missed the timing that films had in the 70's... there were mainstream, big budget porn films that played in normal cinemas... and then it all got politicized and the best you can find is "artistic" nudity in films that are "pushing boundaries." Games came on the scene just a little too late into the political right's crusade to make American a total shit show of a nation.

truth... but the videogame industry (and films of the 70's for that matter) are two industries tightly controlled by men. So, the feminists have a point there, and plenty of feminists would be fine with porn if women were making it. But there are a lot of reactionaries on the left that freak out anytime a woman enjoys sex. But the left is much better at getting thing enacted and is really bad at getting things banned... feminists won the right to vote and failed to kill the porn industry. The political right is terrible at enacting anything and is surprisingly good at banning things. They get books out of schools and libraries and do so because of some nonsense puritanical justification. They would get big porn games banned.
