Even if its years from now do you think there will ever be a time a big studio just says fuck it and makes one? Even farther than anything in GTA or Baldurs Gate. If so which studio would be the most likely? Or do you think there would be room for an indie to grow enough to sit among them?

Not so early, because of patreons and lookalike sites. developers can get a community, receive a decent amount of money, even without the need of creating a studio or paying a lot of workers

I don't see it happening no. I'm not even willing to pay full AAA price for real games anymore, and wait on sales for them. I'd be even less likely to put out AAA $ for a porn game of all things. Even if they magically became fully socially acceptable to discuss/make/have overnight, I don't see it ever being profitable enough to start getting AAA companies interested in making them (or people to pay prices that reflect AAA status).

I would love to be wrong, but I can't see ANY AAA company braving all the shit Patreon, Subscribestar, etc... face with trying to monetize porn vs. Credit Card companies, Banks, etc... that are almost always controlled by conservative forces.

Instead, the AAA game companies can do a cute fluffy mindless game for kids, a board game emulator for families, or some RPGs for the nerds like me... and avoid (almost) any kind of public backlash.

I actually think that porn games will get more censorship as time goes by. I don't want it to be true... but since when have our leaders and law enforcement come to us with GOOD news on that front?

but... In the future I can imagine we having a 3D dating game, in which you can meet women around a city and and try to convince them to go to bed with you --- by literally typing in a box text just like I am doing rn - or using your real voice (this would require a good voice recognition software).

But to be considered AAA it would have to be very good, good graphics, very realistic scenarios and fantastic female models. They would also have to use AI to generate the characters' responses, but for now the AI isn't that advanced. Such a game would be a reality in the Blade Runner universe.

Risk versus reward is probably against that happening. At best it would most likely only be in form of a PC game. Any other gaming platform would block it in fear of a backlash. What might happen though is that some of the devs doing x-rated games now would evolve into more "mature" companies with better investment and time than now, raising the quality of both writing and visuals.

AAA porn games won't happen without a fundamental shift in societal attitudes about sex. Although, widespread usage of crypto (eliminating central banking) might be enough of a change.

Not anytime soon. Maybe once there aren't so many bluenoses. It would probably take religion dying out in the US like it has in other developed countries. Probably also take some of the feminist objections to go away, too. Of course if it's a game nobody can claim anyone is exploited. Maybe also if a new AAA studio specializing in it came out or a major porn studio moved into games...

I think Badik is on AAA level now considering so many clones tried to be another badik(college) game. I would also consider City of Broken Dreamers as AAA with the top tier writing and top tier renders.
