Why do so few games use sex sounds?

So few do a good job with them. I really appreciate when they do, but i hate every game having the same stock sounds and music.

Interesting that there's so many who don't even enjoy sounds even when it's done decently. To me it adds so much immersion. But I guess this thread does answer my question, a lot of people really just don't care for it.

Or we don't want people knowing we're playing that sort of game...

If Lost Life is any indication....the addition of sound can add levels of stimulation beyond just the visual to bring a game to its MAX potential.

It can, but it has to be properly aligned with the visuals otherwise it becomes annoying.

I'm rather turn it off if there's one, sound cringe if not do it well

I enjoy sounds and music too and if done well it really adds to the experience. But it also can distract or even make it way worse.
I recently played a game with stock music but it didn't change for scenes or it at least didn't match. Another game had sounds, clearly made by a guy putting his mic to mouth and tries to make sex-sounds. That was disgusting.
And then another one where there was grunting and moaning by the male MC. Took me completely out of the experience, like there was another dude in the room fapping.

So in conclusion, I'm pro sound (and music) when done well. If not, don't bother.

Most games i played whit sex sounds have a bad quality, dont follow the scen or just one sound on repeat. Totaly mute them.
When its well done i have it on. Because its add to the scen.

Some sounds also have an impact on the performance. In lessons of love for example is a stupid audio of a car driving by at the end of each schoolday and no matter if you skip seen text from waking up to that point or click through it there always is a delay in the playflow because the choice menu dont responds while this sound plays. On my office PC (oldtimer) i even get a "app not responding" warning if i dare to click anything while this soundfile playes. Just one example, many games have such flowbreaking sounds. It can be worse then animations.

Hard to translate :ROFLMAO:

I agree with you, I guess some people might enjoy hearing male grunts but for me who like to self insert that's just a big no no. I hate it even in normal porn. I think I prefer having repetetive music rather than complete silence though, even though it's obviously not great.

Yeah that's another thing to take into consideration that I didn't think about, removing sounds does help with performance, and file size.

Sex sounds are goddamn fantastic and I'm tired of pretending they are not. However, I understand why so few devs have the time or resources to add them. I believe AI audio will be instrumental here, because it can (eventually?) allow for nuanced audio that can be unique for each scene, and won’t necessarily need to be localized.

Any suggestions? I would love to try it out on the next session
Harumachi on Pixabay has some decent ambient music. But it all depends on what floats your boat. Sometimes I'll even listen to Dark Souls OSTs while playing adult games. Really get the heart pumping, ya know.

Thanks mate, I'll try Harumachi next time. The Dark Souls OST though holds too many memories from the time I played it. That game was an amazing ride from beginning to end.

They are awesome games with amazing music, I can imagine not wanting to think about sad boss stories when you're watching a naughty scene.

I like your thinking and I enjoy a good slurping, pounding or "releasing" noises lol I do really appreciate when devs put the effort to add sound. However on the flip side and slightly off topic sometimes it can get annoying if they use different sound clips of varying quality. Have had some that are just terrible and made me turn down the volume right away.
