What is one movie everyone should watch at least once?

Yes, it is one of the few great SK adaptations. It was based on the Novella "The Body"
True. Most of them fuck the story up. I have no idea why people consider the 1980 Shining one good - neither does SK. Between Jack Nicholson's ham acting, the complete change of the story and the idiocy of the kid talking to his finger, it was bad. The 1998 TV series was much better. Also, Rebecca DeMornay was hot in 1998, the one playing the mom in the 1980 movie was kind of an uggo.

As a Frenchman, I must recommend Brotherhood of the Wolf (thats the English title I think).

Not only because it's an excellent French movie, but also because it's pretty much the only good French movie I've enjoyed in the last 20+ years.

Misery and Dolores Claiborne did a good job of keeping to feel of the books.
The Dark Tower might just be the worst adaptation of an SK book ever. How they thought they could capture the essence of seven books into one movie is beyond me. It's too bad too, because the Dark Tower series of books is such a great series. Especially the books 1-4.

I remember I saw it but can't remember anything about it, except it has Mark Dacascos and Monica Bellucci.
What about Dobermann?

the prestige, though you should watch it twice as its almost like a new movie second time through. one of the few i wish i could forget so i get to watch it the first time again

Heat
Ronin
The silence of the lambs
the great escape
Original Ben Hur
The evil dead
The crow
The entity
Bridge over the river Kwai
The shack
I need to think a little harder.

Silence of the Lambs - absolutely riveting stuff and a classic adapation.

Lord of the Rings (trilogy)
Best scene ever: Rohirrim in the Pellenor fields

The question is relatively simple. You go on IMDB and you should have seen the 20 best. My personal favorite film is Forrest Gump!

Great soundtrack. This type of musicals without singing is my favorite, though i also like American Graffiti.

I don’t now , how in English , but in Russian it’s “По соображениям совести»; «Интрстеллар»; “Король Артур»

John Carpenter is very underrated. He might be one of if not the most of all time underrated directors, and people just think he directs cheapie horror movies. Escape from New York, The Thing, They live, Big Trouble in Little China are all incredible films. Even some of his bad movies are interesting in fact the only one i outright hated was Escape From LA, never should have gotten made.
