Space chess tournament? Punching a Gorn in the face? Kirk.
Somebody to cook a delicious meal? To violate every Star Trek directive in the same day and be able to live with it? Sisko.
To straight up murder people? Janeway.
To look good shirtless while rubbing decon gel on himself? Archer.
To come up with a different impressive hairstyle every season? Burnham.

Both are good but I would say Kirk

So, If I ranked the Captains (main ones, so, kinda not counting Discovery with its switching around) I would go:
Pike>Janeway/Picard>Kirk>Archer>Sisko

I do like them all, but yeah, Anson Mounts portrayel of Pike just catapulted him into my first place, he is fantastic! Before that Janeway was my favourite for a long time because she is my main childhood-Captain, tho I do appreciate Picard and lately have come to see him at around the same level. Sisko and Archer both kinda loose out, even tho they are also still in my childhood-phase xD (For Sisko because I wasn't really a fan of DS9s premise and for Archer... dunno actually, I like him, its just that Kirks iconic status puts him higher) Kirk actually only wins against Archer for me if I count the modern Kirk too, like, Shatners Kirk is iconic, yeah, but it is still 60s tv acting and well...

If you need somebody who's a strong leader but not afraid to let his crew shine as well and doesn't need to be the center of attention, plus has cool hair.

But the question was for Captain, not Captain and First Officer team xP I mean, if we take first Officers into account? Pike is still great, because No1 is great, but yeah, Kirk has the best first Officer by faaaar (We don't even need to talk about the sleeping pill that is Janeways and while I do love Jonathan Frakes, Riker as a character is just plain boring compared to Spock )
