This is all very good info and I, for one, appreciate it.

I just wish we could all take criticism in the spirit in which it is given (and sometimes take it in the opposite of the spirit in which it is given) and treat it like water off a duck's back. It's so easy to take offense when none is intended, and so hard to not take offense when it is intended. But we're all better off as a community if we can take it all chill.

Obviously, I'm trying to think up stuff to say, just like the next guy, finding ways to post to try to get likes and try to get those points up. We're all in the boat together. Let's all keep bailing and try not to shoot more holes in the boat.

Yeah, everybody takes everything too serious. Just don't let it bother you and abort discussions that participants just want to cause trouble or want to be angry. ;)

I get, even if one wants to have a normal conversation with someone to earn coins in an enjoyable way, its not easy with all those mindless "grind grind grind" to find or start those.

Seems like a reasonable system, though it is a long road to 750 and I much preferred to old system when I was so close. Thank you for the helpful info though. We'll get there eventually!

Pretty sure points and credits are used interchangeably, but it feels like a lot

Yes, points, credits, coins is all the same.

Is the first post of this thread available today (about the points/credit/coins given by posting, etc) ?

I try to keep the OP as current as possible. ;)
So yes, everything is true there.

So the bank is very cool. (Just read about it in the first post. Seems like a much better way to replace the visit once a day and get credited points. This way you have to proactively do something (at the bank) to collect your interest, and the more you have, the more you can earn.

I do have a question, though. Since I'm saving up for the member+ rank and I'm waiting for the weekly sale (now that I have more than about 550 LC) I'm going to need to withdraw as soon as the sale shows up. I'm trying to game out whether I should leave this on deposit for a week and continue to accumulate LC so that I can leave a reasonable sum in the bank to accrue interest while I try to save up for the higher ranks.

Is the sale always the same (i.e., 15% off?)? So that I know that if I wait a week, I won't be disadvantaged by waiting? (Leaving aside the extra week's worth of catch-up I'll need to do. At this point, I'm far enough behind that an extra week won't kill me.) But it really won't make sense to wait if I end up paying more for the rank a week later, eating up all my extra interest.

Thanks for any additional input on my highly elaborated decision matrix. (Yes, but over-engineered does not mean wrong.... :)

You can withdraw it instantly I think, I'm dumping all coins into the bank and taking it out on the next sale.

Having 550 in the bank "only" gives 5.5 coins per day, so you don't need to be too accurate about this, you could instead post once more a day, to get the same income.

Also a sale always lasts 24h, so you have a bit of time to react.

A sale can have a 10%-30% discount, so if you want to really wait you could do that, but as nobody knows how high a sale will be, you may just wait for more weeks than needed.
Also keep in mind, that you could just try a bit harder at posting stuff on a sale day if you are close to the needed coins.

Yes, but keep in mind that everytime there is an interaction with the bank (deposit, withdraw, collecting interests) the next collection timer will reset.
So if you are only 6h away from the next collection and put your coins into the bank, it will reset it to 24h.

so... have we moved from a forum about porn games to a forum about high finance? I missed this...

This is an important point. I didn't realize that a deposit would reset the clock. (I actually think it's mentioned in the original post (so my bad for missing it) but this warning is much clearer. Once you've deposited, don't touch the bank until immediately after you've collected interest.

Yes, it's in the OP, but "hidden" inside the Bank-Spoiler. ;)
Notes:
Every time you deposit, withdraw or collect coins the timer will be reset and the 24h starts anew. So if you want to be efficient, deposit new coins right after you collected them.

So this is one of the things that confused me. I think the comment "to be efficient, deposit new coins right after you collect them" may be misleading. I thought this meant every time I collected 5 coins from posting something, I should immediately deposit it. But I believe that's incorrect, because that will reset the timer, potentially right before I'd be able to collect interest. I think this is meant to say "if you want to be efficient. deposit all the coins you've collected in the previous 24 hours into the bank right after you've collected interest."

Didn't thought that would lead to misunderstandings.
I'll specifiy that the interests are meant. (y)
