A mix of both. Static images could be coded with small movements. Some games uses this technique to reinforce the character expressions.

Do y'all prefer a set of lewd animations that you hit continue when you're done looking at them? Or would you rather have still images that you click through and have the characters dirty talk into the climax?
a mixture of both is what I prefer. constant animation bogs the system down, and just still images are boring. Gotta find that balance

Still Images. You are more in control like that.

Still image only VNs are so last decade, we have the technology. i don't mind a mix but there has to be SOME animation imo

A mix of both is best IMHO. However, bad animation is not welcome.

I would rather a game with great stills over a poorly animated game.

Mostly prefer still images cos as someone said bad animations can be really bad.

Animated. Static, it's better to read hentai manga

If its 3d there is no reason not to animate it as long as it's well done. If it's drawn/2d, I usually prefer still images.
I also think game with animation should always compress their files and either provide a lighter still only version or an update only patch, it's a pain to download a badly compressed multi Gb game each update

Games that are 10-20gb (or more) are a pain in the ass. And it surprises me that many of those games dont have as much content as smaller ones. I want "better" animations, more varied, not "higher resolution" ones that are all similar or straight the same

Everything is balanced. Animations are really good and completed by texts to make it last longer.

while i am not completely against the animated ones, i still prefer the still images as generally animations can get wonky

A little variety is good, but if you can't make good animations then don't bother. Bad stills I can still use my imagination to fill in the gaps. Bad animation completely ruins the immersion.
