What is one movie everyone should watch at least once?

Gotta be Porky's - the original and the funniest of the HS comedies.

Flash Gordon (1980)

every sci fi film after Star Wars and Alien tried to look like either Star Wars or Alien. This doesnt, even the "space" battles happen in pink clouds, no cute or funny robots, amazing cast and that soundtrack....

Flash, ahhh! Saviour of the Universe!

Its sci-fantasy really but so much fun. Even if you didn't like Star Wars you could still love this.

And it has James Bond as Prince Barin, Timothy Dalton. I get a chuckle out of Brian Blessed as Vultan, Gordon's alive, and the part where he orders the Hawkmen to dive!

Star Wars has John Williams but only Flash Gordon has Queen. Well accept for Highlander, but different movie.

The Lord Of The Rings - EXTENDED EDITION. It is the only right way to watch those movies.

I am gonna go with some obscure movies or at least titles not typically seen on these lists.
The Sting (1973)
The Red Violin (1998)
October Sky (1999)
Amélie (2001)
Children of Men (2006)

The Transformers, The Movie. 1986. Toei Animated it. Lion's theme opens the film, fantastic 80s score. Fantastic 4K reissue in Widescreen is highly recommended. If you want the 4:3 full frame your going to have to get the first pressing blu.

James Mangold has an impressive filmography as well, Walk the Line, 3:10 to Yuma, Ford Vs Ferrari. The only film of his that was a total misfire was Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.

I don't necessarily mean your favorite movie, but what is something that people should watch at least once in their life? Could be because it is of great significance to the film industry, was the first of a specific subgenre that has now become a trope, or whatever other reason.

I'll start with Citizen Kane. It used cinematography that brought deep focus into mainstream films, and was an unabashed dive into American capitalism that hadn't been done as well previously (though I might have forgotten something earlier than this lol.)

What do you all suggest?
I had to watch Citizen Kane as a teenager, I watched the first five minutes, fell asleep, woke up right before the end just to see what the word he uttered at the beginning is all about... I guess there some content in between I should watch sometime ;) But the mystery is already spoiled...

I would say Blade Runner, I suppose the ethic dillemma there is still not aplicative for today, given that AI is still hugely limited despite what they claim. But still it gave food for thought.

For me it's War of the Worlds, scared the shit out of me when I was a kid.
Which version, i hated the Tom Cruise version. I liked the classic version yes it was stupidly transferred from its UK setting to US, but the 1953 version is the most cinematically iconic. And there were other notable 50's sci fi like Forbidden Planet, and The day the earth stood still.

Also 1960 Time Machine over the remake.

Rocky I-VI
Rambo
Terminator 1 and 2
The Day After Tomorrow (Big fan of disaster movies)

I would pick Towering Inferno, and Poseidon Adventure just for John Williams scores alone. Cheesy by modern standards as disaster movies of course.

If you are going to pick a Bogart picture how can you not see the Maltese Falcon.
