How does everyone keep track of all the games you've played?

I don't keep track of any games I play. I just use my memory to recognize the games I played before when I see them. Maybe I should use some of the tracking methods described here 🤔

I check updates and usually remember the ones I liked and the ones I don't. If the tags tick me, I download and try. Ofc some times I download something and start playing just to remember that I don't like it... but it is quite surprising how often I do remember!

Folders. Many many folders. Everything unzips to the New Stuff folder. If I like it I'll move it to the Keepers folder in either Completed or In Progress subfolder. If I immediately know I dislike it, it gets deleted immediately. If I'm not sure, it just gets moved to the to the Watched which gets purged of anything older than a year periodically, because if it hasn't made it into keepers by then, it's likely never going to. Then there are a few dev folders in the Keepers folder for stuff follow closely and will always have the latest version in them.

God, typing all the out I just realized how anal I am about good directory management.

When I try out a game, I make sure to index it in different notepads depending on if I have no interest in the game, a "meh" category, and finally an active update one.

I always make sure that I include the latest version, where I found it, and maybe some notes to help me remember what it was about.

What about everyone else? What do you all do, if anything?
I delete the files (to save room) and keep the folder so I know the name of the ones I liked.

I keep games I've downloaded in a folder with their version number, and if there is ever an update I just check if the new version number is higher than the one I have saved.

Actually my only chance to keep track are the folders in appdata/roaming/renpy. For example if I'm not sure if I played a game after the latest update I just compare the dates.

I keep two folders, played and unplayed, and I report the ones that don't deserve any more attention, and save in HD the ones that I'll probably play again.

Bookmark them is one. Make a microsoft doc game name and opinion on the game with some screenshot then make sure you put it encrypted flash drive. Also can always just make a folder in a external drive and throw the ones you like in just in case a exodus happens. There is also check update list and probably recognize it.

I just check the latest updates, and if it's something I already played and liked, just download it again.

I also bookmarked the games that I enjoyed and keep installed, but my bookmarks do not contain which games are from sinner and which not, so I always have to click on them to check if I can still access the page or not :ROFLMAO:

Also, is there actually a way to get notified if a game gets updated? Haven't found one so far

I have 3 tb of games on various drives, its spaceconsuming, but with the price per tb being what it was just a couple of years back, its actually a good way of keeping track of the games I've played. Also, having sort of a 'hoarder' mentality, but confining it to data sometimes pays off - content gets removed, reworked, and if you like the old version better *cough* ...Faring... *cough* (nothing implied simply an example), then at least you get to retain that content.

I have 3 folders, one with ongoing games, another with finished games and a permanent games... the first two only have the folder with the name and version of the game with no other data and the 3 one is for games that I will not delete

I don't try to track them. Only see download history of if I have played that version before

I keep games I've downloaded in a folder with their version number, and if there is ever an update I just check if the new version number is higher than the one I have saved.
Same here, keeping the version number is the key factor. Sometimes a game that is labeled as complete can get new content.

I never delete a played game, have almost a terabyte of games. (i do delete old versions and stuff)

I usually can remember most games I've played when I see them. When I don't remember if I played a new update I just check the change log and hope it's detailed enough to tell

I usually remember them. The good and the very bad stand out but I have downloaded games I've played before that were pretty bland and forgettable 😅
