Do you prefer playing a VN with a Walkthrough Mod. Why/why not?

Always Walkthrough if there is one, don't want to miss anything and sometimes the games are very long

Absolutely not. In 95% of the cases blind playthrough is better, and it's quick enough to use skip text to get to the point you wanted with different choices.

However there are exceptions, for example there are games like Love of Magic that has zero respect towards your time, and every day you have to check a lot of places since the game doesn't mark what events become available and why. So playing it with a walkthrough is mandatory to simply not waste your time.

There are other cases for example where harem routes in VN require extremely specific set of choices no one in their right mind would pick thinking it leads to a harem ending, in that case yeah, i absolutely will look it up and will shake my head later.

But in general blind playthrough for the first time is unequivocally better.

Personally myself no because i like to challenge myself. If i make mistakes i will correct them on another playthru or start again

Most games I like to play em raw, but visual novels are usually way to long to replay for a slightly different scene. I like to learn where the important points to save are

For visual novels, I pretty much always turn on the walkthrough mod if it's an option. I like knowing what situation I'm getting myself into without having to waste time sorting through the different options and watching various affections point go up or down for each choice.

if the game has missable content that you can otherwise get in one go then yes, even for games with branching paths.
Something i've noticed is that i REALLY dislike replaying games, even if i found them really fun the first time...The most notable example for me is Lessons in love, this game is millions of words long and i'm still convinced it's the longest western H vn ever, but the game a has a LOT of missable events that you can get in one single save file if you try hard enough. (or just use autoVN like i did), the fact that it's intended irks me but that's a discussion for another day.

If a game is really long, like if it's doing a day by day sytem, then yeah, I prefer to use a walkthrough. Or if there are some hidden scnes that need a weird requirement.

Walkthroughs only because I don't want to miss any scenes. But at the same time the challenge makes it more interesting and feel like you "earned" it

I always use walkthroughs when I play games that have so many complicated paths that it would be almost impossible to complete them without one, and also games where it's very easy to get soft-locked.

I normally play legit first time around and then WT mod for 2nd to see different paths, endings or hidden scenes I may have missed. Gallery unlocker if I've played it before and don't want to replay due to time constraints, but want to see scenes.

I really like when there's a gallery unlocker so that I not sitting there worked up about my choices thinking I'll miss a scene. I prefer a walkthrough though for times when I get stuck, that happened a lot in early versions of fall of gladriel and i hated the experience.

If its full of missable content then yeah. Story is generally secondary in VNs, so id rather not have to hunt for "that one missing scene" if i dont have too

yea missable content take priority here. i rarely go into any game that has defined story content without knowing exactly what i want out of the story. there is a reason why like 90% of the bg3 community save scums all their runs. VNs (at least the more popular ones) do seem to offer various kinks and routes to cater to a wider audience and this is sort of counterintuitive to suggest that a guy who likes vanilla....and is playing a game for a vanilla experience....would opt to NOT use a walkthrough and have to sit through cuck content when they could just experience the story how they please. It also is mandatory for devs who hide specific (point system) requirements behind ambiguous or questionable writing.

i always play with walkthrough on i know it contreversial but sometimes the answers can be also good and irl a wrong answer in game would have been the right one so i dont want to miss out on content just because of what the developer decided is right

I prefer my VN with walkthrough mode. I don't like the idea of missing content or making a wrong choice; or maybe even getting a game over screen. I make many bad choices with my life already, I don't need more. Lastly, if I didn't have the walkthrough mode I would waste so much time trying to find the best route, so having it save me a bunch of time.
