One question i have, the meaningful replies, is the likes, or the people cites my posts in the forun?
Basically what Mephistopoles put.
meaningful in just a way that you dont "stirr up shit" in the comment section. something like that.
if you liked a game just say it. or try to say what you liked. constructive criticism is fair gain for any game-dev.^^
I'm not one for posting "Good Game". I feel like I'm at a sporting event and shaking hands with the opposing team whenever that is put.
Although I have on occasion, relayed public posts that user might not of been aware of.

dont get it the wrong way, but the owner had to do something or we could lose LC in the way it used to be. i dont want another F95-clone.
so if we have to lurk a bit and post here and there. whats the harm for us?
it sucks that i cant play new games and updates for some time. but i dont want to see the section gone.
I think mephistopoles is right, I also prefer that, to this area disappears, if it is true there are other communities that offer something similar, but there is not like LewCorner.

I'm a little hung up on the word "meaningful." A lot of the games I actually like have threads where the last comment was posted so long ago that I would feel like a bit of a Necromancer if I posted in them, and I know in the internet more broadly thread necromancy is usually frowned on.

I am just so thankful it's not a pay-wall. Not exactly an ideal solution for everyone but at least it's a good one so most can still be happy with moderate effort.
Yeah I feel the same, at least it's still doable by the lurkers and not a paywall or impossible

Thx so much for all the info :D

that's a good point, I didn't think of that 🤔

What defines meaningful reply? There aren't hundreds of discussions that go on each day. I'm here for the games, not really to chat.
Basically as far as I've seen you just need to comment on threads. Post on some games things like that

as you can read, english is not my first language. maybe my wording is a bit off or could be misunderstood easyly.
thats why i wrote "constructive criticism" too. ^^
so just do as you did befor. nothing wrong with that.

EDIT: sorry i did read your comment a bit wrong. its late over here. 😅

i am myself mostly a lurker and even if the idea itself is not bad, i find it counterproductive to indirectly force people to write posts, i think we will see more crap from now on than we already do

*edit for example like for like posts
We'll briefly see more crap, but every lurker who "earns" the designation will probably go right back to lurking, so it should be temporary.

Hard to figure out the time thing. I've been a member for a year and a half and have just over 1 day time. The 35 posts or replies won't be that hard but I'm not very sociable so I tend to just ask for help when needed. I'll have to change the way I do things and that's probably not a bad thing as it would be more courteous of me to comment on games I do like.

I understand why things are having to be done. I've been paying attention to the threads about it on here and discord chat. I thank the owners and others helping out with everything. Y'all keep up the good work!

How does the time online work? I've been a member for 1.5 years, usually leave the page open, and only have five and half hours.

Yeah, I think you're right. I mean, I haven't said but a few things in two years. So, I guess I'll go back to hibernating when this is done. lol
