And of course we are not forced to pay but lowkey "tricked" otherwise you wont unlock their new posts and updates on thier patreon or other paltforms , hell some devs even make a site dedicated for that game and sell it for a price, someone gave an exemple its like paying for ingredients to make a recipe for us , yeah well imagine paying a chef to prepare you a buffet only to take the money and ghost you , how would you feel about that , would you say maybe he dont have the physical or mental strenght to do it too ? give us a break and lets be real

Yes there are worthy devs who delivers masterpiece and they should be appreciate it bc at that case all that money earned its nothing but a thank you , but the point is , this trade model or whatever you wanna call it aint right and need to be fixed
I think the point of my post might have been missed. Not surprising - I tend to ramble and go off-topic quite easily. Anyway.

Supporters should not be thinking a subscription is buying something. Nearly all games of this genre can be downloaded, for free, somewhere. LC, F-95, LewdZone, SpicyGaming, FapNation, SVC Comics, AeeTeeEff, and a bunch of others. Whether the developers are doing it themselves, or the website has uploaders on staff, the content is out there without the need for support to download and enjoy the game. Some developers will hold something back for subscribers, but that's honestly very little in return for a continued payment. Getting some extra content, or getting something sooner, IMHO, is not worth it.

Now, I can't speak for all developers, but from where I sit, the my supporters are not "buying" anything. They choose to support because they want me to succeed and continue. They show their support with their money. That's the business model. If you're going into it thinking you are buying something, you should spend your money elsewhere. I seriously hope not one of you is giving money to someone you believe is scamming you. If you feel they are, quit supporting them. There are certainly people out there who are dishonest and will get whatever they can anyway they can.

If you decide to support, I urge you to find someone's work you like and enjoy and, if you can afford it, support them if you believe they are worth it and want them to continue to produce the content you like to consume. If you don't support, for whatever reason, do what you can to support the places like LC so content continues to flow. Either way, we all benefit as a community.

I have no idea how you conflate an AVN with a cake. It could, in a way, be seen as similar to a car payment or mortgage, but supporting is completely voluntary. No one is made to support. If you don't want to support, don't support. It is painfully obvious you've never tried to make an AVN. You're saying "if I ever do what these people are doing, I'd do it completely different." Go ahead, show us. I'll wait.
Ok. Fair. Let me rephrase.
Being paid by Patreon isn't something I'd ever do. Too many devs can't eat based on that income. I don't have the skills. I'd just be making a shitty little AVN with no $ expectation.
Also, I'd feel like I'd be ripping people off if I couldn't finish. I wouldn't want to feel like that. I understand the business model. I just don't know how it can exist, is all.
To emphasize, IF I ever made an AVN, it would be a hobby. I'm no pro.

Finally, just so you know, people that can't even find the power button on a computer get to complain how slow the computer is even though it's... ya know... OFF! heh
They also don't need to make a computer to be able to complain.
If people complaining about shit for complaining's sake is new to you, may I welcome you to Planet Earth.

EDIT = Changing the tone as per the above request = Not saying most Devs are ripping people off. Some, but not most. What I am saying is that the Patreon model seems like a really unstable way to make a living and also not something I'm into as a consumer either... but good luck (no sarcasm) to all devs and Patrons that use this model.

Way over 90% of all AVN developers never made anything from Patreon or any other platform. There's just too many restaurants and not enough paying customers. Of the last (maybe) 10%, most don't make enough to have it be a regular source of income. They might have started with the thought of being professionals but quickly found out the long work it takes to do something mediocre, let alone something good.

If there'd be a better way to set everything up, I'd be all for it. Patreon and all its clones are very shaky. Consequences can be rough.

You certainly can complain for the sake of complaining, or whatever reason, just as I certainly can poke fun at the silliness of the argument as a whole, especially taking place, as it does, on a AVN pirate website.

Absolutely. Totally fair, again.

Me and logic, we don't speak.
Heck, we're not even pen pals.

And they get abandoned always right when you think the scene you've been waiting for is about to come up

I think some developers are too focused on the story and I can understand why they get stuck at some point. On the other hand, it's annoying when a developer starts multiple games and doesn't finish any of them!!!
That is definitely an issue. I get ideas all the time for stories I think would be awesome. I write ideas down and then come back to them later. It's how my supporter projects got started.

Probably since the devs can't handle the work load or just go into a burnout

Lot of truth in this thread!

The one I hate the most is:
1) Start a passion project
2) Publish it, and develop a following
3) Start making some money
4) Start listening to the highest bidders
5) Get bored working on "their" project
6) Find something else to be passionate about

But before you criticize to much, Try this. Think of the game you want to make, and write out the first 3 sex scenes. It ain't easy.
