Why I hate most japanese type games

Personally, the aesthetic of most j-games just doesn't appeal to me. I can live with the broken English and even tolerate the censorship (although I agree with the majority of you - it's annoying as hell). But if the game isn't visually pleasing to me, it loses a lot of its appeal. That's why I never play KK games and only pick up selected few HS ones that offer something to balance the lacking visuals. Of course, like every other rule, this too has its exceptions, but they are very few and far between.

I don't really care about the style or the censorship (if it's censored in all versions) but I really can't deal with bad translations, I wouldn't play the best game in the world if I couldn't understand what's written on the screen.

I really just hate how everything is so cute, and everything looks like fkn cats. I hate cats.

Some Japanese games have the MC looking very young, apart from the sternness that completely ruins it.

I feel like I'm missing out on a lot of the "best" games because of my aversion to the j-game aesthetic, but, I do echo this. The art often feels flat & same-y and I don't like the tropes, around reluctance especially.

Yeah I agree with a lot of what you guys said. Most of the time there is no translation, which is a shame, censorship is a bummer, and due to cultural differences there's a ton of grinding or gameplay mechanics that I don't like. It's kind of the same in normal games. But the characters are what annoys me the most in normal games (or the need to put waifus and looks everywhere, characters in Japanese game lack realism to me 95% of the time). But we'll, different culture, different needs.

i agree with you, i don't like japanese art/style either

I think Japanese media in general has basically become a parody of itself.

Censorship and bad translation is the only reason why i hate jap porn games

Censorship - only thing that really annoy me.
Japanese censorship is so weird but that's because of the US occupation forces who set some Major up as the chief censor. He was a hard core christian and couldn't conceive of anything more explicit than pubic hair which is why an old manga/hentai comic book can have a child with a samurai sword inserted into her vagina, bleeding out, because it was acceptable due to the absence of pubic hair.

Still have to ask WTAF they would want to draw that (but given their history in China, they brought back many of the traumas they committed so it isn't a total surprise).

In case anyone thinks I made that image description up, I didn't, it was in a manga I saw as a child or at latest my early teens, it stayed with me... That's why I went and researched Japanese censorship and its origins and know a little about the occupying forces and the censorship they imposed that created modern japan.

PS censorhip in games is stupid. It's already implied what it has implied so putting a strip over (or blanking it) it is fucktarded.

It is weird how in Japanese games, etc they have incredibly perverted stuff - but censor the genital area. Even in porn movies - like WTF?

I hate when the female character looks petite, but when she takes her shirt off, huge tits pop out. I prefer characters with proportional measurements. It seems like an overreaction to the fear that their character will be pegged as too young.

Yeah that censorship is completely counter productive that's for sure 😆. Too bad because sometimes this censorship seems to vary greatly from source to source, sometimes there's like 30 black bars, other times 1....
