I've said elsewhere, cartoons do nothing for me. For me the more realistic looking the better - though real porn games suck. Now if there was a game that had real porn specifically made for the game, that would be different. And censored is 100% unacceptable.

I played Paradise Lust, and I liked it very much. I played all the NLT games, I liked them very much too. So I wondered for a long time why I just didn't like it. Censorship of course is a big one, but I didn't even come that far. Yesterday I found out, some other game with western rendering which I didn't like too. Because most of the models all looked alike, except for the hair color, lots of girls just looked like they were the same person. So it's more specific down to those japenese anime girls all looking the same with no real facial expression.

the only things i hate about japanese games are the censorship and when a game needs me to have my computer set to japanese locale, other then those im fine with them

While we all have our different tastes, some of what we like derives from our upbringing and what we are exposed to while our brains develop. Add in the quirkiness that is the human mind, and the result is a conglomeration sometimes difficult for us to understand in our own minds.

Most people are content enough with deciding, "I don't like that," rather than delve into the why. It took me a while to figure out why I dislike 90% of DAZ-based AVNs, but once I did, it was easier for me to find that other 10%.

There's several reasons DAZ games don't really interest me. Many things look very similar, including pussies.

I had difficults to start to look for 3D games because they were too similar for me, and the cartoonish games were better to pass the emotions for me, even if the 3D are more realistic.

I always wondered why I didn't like 50% of the games, because of their japanese anime style. Until I found discussion on the internet about missing facial expressions. In my eyes they all look alike, same look, different hair. But I found it strange in real life I'm more attracted to asian woman than to western woman. But in AVN's, the best girls are all western rendered type of girls.

Well, "anime" games always have been really hit or miss in general.

Cartoons, poor translation, censorship... yeah you've hit the nail on the head here. I tend to stay away from them too

Censorship is the most annoying part.
I also tend to avoid the ones that look too anime-like, where all characters just end up looking non distinct (a good example where characters are good and well defined is Bible Black).
+ too much RPGM. Just move on to something better. Anything is better. Hell, even RAGS is better.

Also they tend to have weird shit that's a major turn off - like futa or that tentacle shit.

So my main reasons for disliking Japanese (adult) games are the following:
1) Censorship - they're an eyesore, I don't know that it can ever be not a bother
2) Cultural Difference - I really struggle to relate to a lot of the background themes and events because the way they are approached and presented is so different from what is normal for me
3) Rape, Coercion and/or Dubious Consent - it's like they don't even like having sex but just want it to happen to women, preferably while having her sound like a stuck pig during it
4) Soulless Main Characters - I really can't tell if this is because they want players to be able to self-insert or if the average Japanese man has so little going for them that an MC with an image is wholly unrelatable
5) Exaggerated Personality Types - a lot of Japanese media just refuses to make real characters and instead just stick to the established archetypes. If you know their archetype you can predict 99% of what they will say and do

For me it's mainly those stupid hige eyes that take half of the space on the faces. Simplistic graphic style in general.
Also, actions and emotions are often exaggerated beyond anything believable.

It is not the characters for me, although the japanese trope of "No, please, stop I'm shy at first, then yes please" is sometimes annoying. It's more the rest of the package, among others:

• Horrible, horrible UI (also in other stuff like smartphones)
• Excessive waste of time (useless grind, unskippable animations, eternal fade in and out, unnecessary transitions, the typewriter-style text presentation that cannot be made instantaneous or at least faster)
• Engrish if lucky
• Computer issues: Cannot be made fullscreen, mouse is useless, only works with controller (if lucky), savefiles are... somewhere, no Linux support
