Sometimes they just die...

Sad to say, but that's life...

The proud father dev got arrested for pixels lol, honestly I wonder how it could be safe to make devs and get money without getting caught, specially if you're making smol content
Crypto maybe?

Takes a lot more time to finish a project than you think

either because its not financially viable to continue working on it, or just because they lost motivation on that game, and dont feel like working on it anymore. which trust me happens alot, not just to game developers but to alot of different fields aswell.

Maybe they didn't make the millions they thought.

Anybody who has worked on creative projects knows how common it is to simply lose interest in a particular project. There doesn't need to be any particular reason. New-ish projects are generally more enticing than older projects. Creative passion flows in mysterious ways.

edit: just kidding you guys, they all got hospitalized and/or died and/or went to prison

Money
Motivation
IRL problems
Problem with a law (like Westy and his "Proud Father")
Big ambitions, poor implementation

I feel sad for westy, he lived the life of a king creating a good loli game and neetmaxx, no wageslaving
btw how much time will he spent in jail? mofos consider pixels to be ** so he will be there for a long time

alot of people start looking for a quick buck hoping to get some suckers to fund them and then quit, others bite off way too much and eventually burn themselves out. and the saddest ones are the ones that get too busy to work on their game like Hot Sands but atleast that guy had the morals to cutoff the patreon when he knew he couldnt work

I think it mainly is time and life changes

  1. Start a passion project of sorts
  2. Get funding from supporters
  3. Lose the will to continue
  4. Doesn't matter made a ton of money off horny fools
  5. Sayonara

Money and probably burning out.

In general ideas are hard to continue past a certain point.

Take TV shows in general. A great pilot and idea, and after 3 or 4 seasons, there is a lot more stale episodes.

This probably goes triple for porn games. How many times does sex with the same person stay exciting in a game? The easy answer to this is to add more characters to the story. Now scenes are going to be more complicated, take longer to design and render, and everything just gets way too tiresome to keep up unless it really is a creative release.

Different reasons:
Lack of money
Moral support
Disease
He died
Problems in your life such as time and work
And he got bored

Not making enough money on it, lose interest, personal issues as mentioned...
The one one point, if you look at how many have major health issues, being an adult game dev must be among the most dangerous jobs in the world. There was even one who supposedly died - like 3 times. That was used as an excuse by apparently alt accounts every time, but he was caught in the lie.

its mostly money, rarely you'll see devs that doesnt have enough time since they're only doing it as a hobby.

I think money, health problems

money, lack of caring, some cases its really just to scam
