Out of all the games you’ve played: which one were you expecting to be terrible but then were surprised to actually love it?

Cosy cafe. Animations in it are not so good, but the banner girls made me want to play it. after playing it for a while I learned that the game is almost too wholesome to be an avn at times. There is also a girl that I felt so bad for I nearly cried...to an avn. I know its shallow to not want to play an avn because of the quality of animation, but I almost didnt play cause of it. Really glad I continued playing it though, and highly reccomend.

I think OSIL, by the sheer size of the game, it feels like it wasn't going to end anytime soon.

Projektpassion for me. Going from the screenshots I put it off for a long time, just saw the android character and wasn't sure if it was for me, but when I started playing it, holy shit.
Some of THE funniest and all around great writing I've ever experienced in a AVN. It also has some serious drama in there, making you go on an emotional roller coaster, but it's all paced so damn well. A very pleasant surprise.

The most i was surprised is by the game "The three Charms". It was awesome, it was so good I decided to buy the game on dlsite and the "surprise" part was when I saw the dev was selling this game for 1$.

Midlife Crisis was a maybe because the pics were not AWESOME at the start. After playing I found it to be INCREDIBLE. There are games with better images, but the story, humor, and FUN make it great for me.

Just a thought.

I have to agree with this choice, I also didn't expect it too turn out the way it did.

I personally was really surprised by Acting Lessons, it was my first 3D model VN and I was like “meh I’ll refund it in an hour or so” and it blew me away with how invested I got in the story!

Had to play it over once again right after finishing it

It's kind of a lame answer, but it was a very old game I donwloaded in a pack and I don't even remember it's name. It was just sweet and we'll done. A very very retro game for sure, and not the type of game I expected to like. Too bad I don't remember much from it, but it definitely reminded me of not judging a book by it's cover.

I like pixel art already, but this was a real step-up.
I also very much underestimated how horny it would get, but hornier is always better.
Just hoping winder memories will be just as good, haven't played yet.

I expected MindControl to be some terrible exploitation thing, but it turned out to be so interesting and well made that I played it for the story, not the porn.

Only v0.2 yet, so there is a lot to look forward to.
