If you want to make an incest focused game, commit to it. Don't spoil the game with side hoes.
I'm not saying it's bad or anything. Just you have to know who your game appeals to. If the game is meant to be incest focused, why are you wasting time on some random chick you meet and fuck for sake of fucking.

Same time and effort could be dedicated to making an extra scene with the daughter/sister/mom/dad/brother.

I like the side girl option as long as it is an option and not forced on you, it let's you see the art/animation style of the creator without rushing or spoiling the incest scenes you came for.

Can't think of any examples off the top of my head where the dev starts ruining the incest by focusing too much on side characters. My take on it, is that It ends up taking away from the incest. Some fail to consider that the fans are there for the incest, and only for the incest.

For me not to make that mistake, I've made 2 free and open-source game projects where the male MC is focused solely only on their related love interest. IE older cousin and younger cousin in one game. In the other, the focus is between an older brother and younger sister, with no other character even shown. Even the latter shows that the brother and sister actually look related.

I don't think I've seen this very often. I do remember one game where the MC started off with a girlfriend, then her and the MC broke-up and the Dev (brilliantly IMO) brought back that character later in the game when she recognized the error she had made.

I would say that giving side piece first before main girl is actually present in a lot of VN incest or not and i dont really like it since the side piece isnt usually the reason i was interested in the game.

Exactly. I hate when I get a game because of a girl in the screenshot and she has 2% time in the story.

I don't mind but as others have said it does seem like a throw away just to keep people interested in the game. However the games that I have played without doing that the scene where everything finally happens with the LI seems to pay off way more.

It depends on if the side girl is an actual established LI or if it's a one-off thing. If it's an established girl, then I'm fine with it, but if it's just a one-off to delay the actual incest happening, then I hate it. Meaningless filler is a waste of time.

If I am playing an incest game, it is for the incest. Side girls annoy me no end, and I wish games made them skippable. For example, though it is a lovely game otherwise, I wish I could skip the side girls in Midlife Crisis.
