I never care for side girl but I understand why some devs add the feature. Development costs alot of money and vaginal sex sells. Many games out there with incest sex might not have ever reached that level of development without that vaginal sex hook through a side girl.

Well in my opinion if its an incest game it should be a Harem game and if that's the case there is no side girl.

I don't like completely unimportant side girl sex scenes. If she's an actual part of the game, sure, but if she's just there to show a sex scene before the dev gets to the actualy LIs and throws the one from the start away then meh...

Seems a lot of devs would make incest games, but they don't want to give you the incest sex scene too early. So they add in side girls to give you quick to get to sex scenes.

Thoughts? My personal opinion is that it's done to give you a throwaway character to try and keep your interest in the game, but it's not why i'm there for it. I'm a patient man and can wait a few chapter for the sex, so long as the build up is good and we get into close call situations until we get there. Adding characters just to be a quick sex attention grabber feels cheap to me.

If it is done in a way that fits into the story, I don't have an issue with it, but there have been a few games that just decided to avoid running into that by just cock blocking the MC several times

I think it works as a great way of showing players what to expect from the sex scenes in the future with the main LIs. I'd look forward to seeing the Mains in that position from memory, rather than imagination

I like character relations to be built up over time regardless of incest. Building sexual tension does a lot more for me than a quickie in the toilets (which seems to be a popular trope).
Having to develop the relationship through choices and actions for me make the best VN.

If it's a best friend or girlfriend character that will be a main LI I think it's fine. If it's just a random one off characters I'd rather just not have a scene
