Honestly, I'm the same. I like to consider myself as a romantic. I don't like the rude/slave routes of most games. I want everyone in the harem to enjoy themselves, that's why I want to see more of the harem members also 'enjoying' each other. While I want to see them be all bisexual in the harem, I mainly want to see them enjoy the harem as much as the MC(us players). Which is why I am very passionate about this subject because almost every Harem games don't include it or miss it completely.

The Problem I see that harem fans have is forcing lesbian in shitty ways all the time.
Most of the time, not optional.

I am fine with group sex, or some lesbian to an extent with mc being involved, or him knowing.

Problems is a lot of times girls are fooling around behind the back of the mc without him knowing, all girls magically turning bi, etc.

It's all about execution at the end of the day.

There are a few games that give the player that option, and I wish more would.

Agreed. There are some great games set in medieval times, that get in to the fantasy dungeon and dragon type story, and some of them are great.

Something I have not come across yet is an old west type setting, that could be a great idea. Play as a traveling outlaw, gamble in the saloons, visit brothels, seduce some rancher’s daughter, or meet a calamity Jane type character, and you rob banks together.

I ran across one of those a few days ago, but it looked like it was town based. Don't remember the name, though.

Done to death - School/college theme. This is especially true to games that use Koikatsu or Honey Select assets/visuals. Like, I get it... The assets for those are limited, but at least be creative with your story and not just the 'done-to-death MC is a student and has a harem of teachers and students'! You can almost always distinguish lazy and/or quick cash grabs from genuine good and thought-out Koikatsu-based games if you see the majority of scenes and assets are from that damn default school map.

Need more of - Besides games with good plot and interesting characters.... Games with FFM scenes where the girls interact with each other as well. You'd be surprised with how many devs shy away from making FFM scenes in their game despite a ton of them being 'harem' games, and when they do FFM scenes, it's almost always the girls just munching exclusively on the MC! Give me some girl-on-girl action as well, Dev! You've already given me this FFM scene!!! Just make the girls kiss or whatever! Fuck me!

In regards to your first paragraph, there are plenty of mods and packs to make something not school/college related in KK. It just takes creativity and putting some real effort into things. Kind of goes with every engine - HS/KK/DAZ. All of them you can use "out of the box", but it's painfully, painfully obvious when that is done.

many devs using the same generic character design is getting old too. I understand designing a unique character takes a lot of time and effort, but I appreciate when it is done. Seeing the same character model in 50 different games, especially the male main character, it’s almost always “Max” from Big Brother/ Glamour.

Poly would mean and include other guys.
If multiple girls fuck the same person regulary together they WILL tend to each other too, thats a simple bonding induced by hormones + if the guy is a loser they need the other girls help to come ^^

Nope, the problem is you. The protagonist knows they are fooling around because thats what happens if you include multiple girls into your sexlife simultaneously. And why shouldnt they? Waiting for master while dripping puddles isnt a harem thing, thats a slaver/dom/asshole thing. Sure, if you want to break your girls feel free to treat them like your property...in games it could work...in reality they would kill you sooner or later...okay, sooner since they are not allowed to get at least some of that pent up stress out of their systems.

Its not a "kink" in a "genre", its a natural result of a harem and therefore it belongs in harem games...the useless thing is always the male protagonist. I mean, not even i could...okay, that would be a lie...i can bring 20 girls to their orgasms on one day, just not each day, there is also work, sleep and a little life between sex. And guys also have...lets say hard (or soft?) physical limits. The girls should always be wet and ready, but the protagonist is the weak point in every real harem. So if you cant give them what they need, why shouldnt they take care of it themselfes? Just because you are not into lesbian sex? You are not even there to see it. Or would you prefer to behead all the "bad" girls until your harem shrinks to a more manageable size?

I wholeheartedly agree, hence my comment about the lazy and/or quick cash grabs. I also agree that there are tons of KK mods and assets out there that can make the default maps look different. The game on my signature, The Primordial, is a good example of that. The game uses a lot of modded and community-made maps then transformed and modified by the dev to fit the game's story and aesthetic. A simple conspicuous prop here and there, a tall building or tree in the distance, and a sprinkle of faceless NPCs work wonders on bland KK maps; and the same logic can also be applied to HS and DAZ maps.

Devs who resort to using the default KK school map are almost always the sore thumb that stands out in the bunch since, unlike HS, KK uses a specific map for its main game. And therefore it's extremely identifiable if you played KK before. HS can be given a leeway since its gameplay is different from KK and therefore doesn't have a main map like KK and instead uses multiple maps. DAZ's 'repetitive blandness', I think, is mainly from the characters and not the maps/themes like KK and HS. The characters available on DAZ are limited and therefore the devs using that engine tend to reuse characters that other games used as well.

But yeah, since there's more School/college genre out there, KK's default school map is always going to be something everyone will notice lol

I think one of the tropes that has been milked relentlessly is the incest one, also the absurdity in the story of some of those games, i mean, i know most of us who plays those games seeks a fuckfest as fast as possible but c'mon, give me some depth in terms of storytelling. Also harems, not every girl is gonna be with you and other five bitches and expect no trouble, but i'm rambling at this point. In my eyes one game that does incest very good is Light of my life.

Personally would like to see more games with a single mother as protagonist (no incest).

One idea I have is a game where MC is a girls volleyball team or dance team coach. Plenty of ways to go with that, you could go through the entire season, working with girls individually after practice and either corrupt them or romance them. Corruption route you could have the girls sabotage the other team, steal their uniforms or injure the star player whatever.

With a large group of girls you could have all sorts of different stories. Jealousy between the girls, a girl having problems with a boyfriend, one of them could be a curious lesbian, or the coaches assistant could be the non athletic quiet type that you help come out of her shell.

Like you said, story pretty much writes itself. If you really wanted to scratch the incest itch, have a couple of twin sisters on the team.
