I have no problem with them if the art style is consistent

As long as they don't try to take credit for creating the art and don't make money off of it it's fine

the AI is limited with how it composes a picture it has a very hard time doing more then 2 people in a pictures and it seems that alot of photos all end up looking sort of the same so im not a big fan of it

When it comes to certain niche fetish adult games, I imagine it can be hard getting commissioned art, so understand it in those circumstances.

Otherwise, I'd prefer they be placeholder images while commissioned art is worked on.

personally ill pass on it but i can see how can help beginners with starter projects.

I don't mind AI, as they can be really good if done properly. Then again I'm not super picky lol

Hard to enjoy the game when the art all looks the same. Maybe in the future ai will be good enough

I think my son said it best. "If I had to choose between a game with AI rendered art or no game, I'll choose the game." His point being that not everyone has what it takes to make good art, and not everyone can afford to hire a professional artist to make art for a game. Especially one that is not likely to make them much money. So, if using AI art allows them to focus on story or gameplay, that's a win. Of course, as many have said, there are issues with AI art and just slapping it in without checking for weird artifacts would be something I'd consider lazy.

As for AI art being easier to do correctly? I've dabbled, and getting it to do exactly what you want is almost an art in itself, and I have much more respect for those that take the time to master it than I used to.

They're too inconsistent, the characters usually look like different people between two images

I don't know where I stand on this. On the one hand, it can be better than the 20 thousand games using the same Honeyselect/ Kokaitsu assets. On the other, so many of them look like saucer eyed naked cherubs and just look weird. Places like Pixiv were full of artists who could pull it off, but since that place changes its TOS more often than some people change underwear, they're all but gone.

As many have said, as long as the characters are consistent from frame to frame and have the right number of fingers and toes, I have zero issue with a developer using AI to generate their images. Sometimes AI images are AMAZING. I just think it might be too early for that technology. On the other hand, nothing accelerates the refinement of a technology like widespread usage of that technology. So the more devs that use it, the better it will get.

as long as the art is consistent I'm happy. Some AI videos are seizures waiting to happen.

Oh it'll get better fairly quick. The genie isn't going back in that bottle. It just needs to get to the point where it's accessible to more people than just the ones with crazy GPU/Processor setups.

Just as you said, if the author admits to using AI, there's no problem. But if they use it and deny it, that's where the issue arises. So far, I haven't played a game made 100% with AI, but maybe I'll give it a chance someday

If done correctly they can look great while giving chance to make vn to people who don't have time/gpu for daz

As standalone pictures, i think some AI art can look great.
Implementing it into a game where the art needs to be consistent to tell a story is a turn off for me

I think you can notice the ai and that's what annoyed me. It is just like cji if it's good then you won't notice it.

If the art is AI made i usually pay more attention to the story to consider if the game is well made or not, but i do not mind it if the AI art is decent. At least people shouldnt have Cthulhu hands kek
