What game, or games, do you have to mod to be able to enjoy playing them?

OKok, I gotta check out what they got there. All this talk about modding FO4 and Skyrim making go back to it again hehe.
Don't fall for the classic trap of spending 12 hrs modding the game and playing 15min before deleting everything lol

definitely the sims 4. even with all the dlc i pirates, the game is pretty lackluster on its own.

Empire: Total War. Kinda bland and shallow and clunky in its vanilla state, but with the right mods hoo boy can I lose days playing it. Right now I'm playing a long campaign with the Empire 2 mod. Not the most stable, but the increased unit variety and tech tree depth is addictive to me. Much more so than the newer Total War titles, after they made those changes to Rome II's army and region mechanic reworks.

Why yes I do actually like being able to recruit local troops into my army with distinct uniforms even though they're functionally identical to the vanilla Line Infantry, thank you very much! Why yes I do like unlocking new unit types as the game goes on and having to retire outdated troops as newer types gradually get rolled into the army, instead of just using the same Line Infantry intended to broadly and vaguely represent multiple troop types in a single unit for literally the entire game. Why yes I do like having to maintain the small towns and villages throughout my territories instead of just building up to five buildings in the regional capitals. Why yes I FUCKING DO actually like being able to dispatch small army groups to chase down raiders, or keep extra militia in front-line regions as deterrence, or train new troops in one of my regions during an active conflict and have them catch up with the main body of the army to keep the offensive going; instead of having to park my armies in my territory to recruit new troops (except for under-powered and overpriced mercenaries) and being limited to just a handful of army groups permanently tethered to their extremely limited generals with absolutely zero strategic flexibility.

Ahem,

Aside from that Skyrim and Fallout. I like having more variety in armors and weapons, helps make the world feel more alive if not every bandit is wearing the exact same fur vest and wielding the exact same steel sword, or raider wearing the exact same straps and pants and carrying the exact same shoddily-designed handmade pipe gun.

Id love FO4 a lot more if Preston could just not exist lol. Give me 100 Nazeems over Prestons. Atleast with some mods you can steal Nazeem's wife kek.
"Another settlment needs your help!" I swear to god Preston you tell that to me one more time i will side with the raiders in nuka world and destroy the commonwealth

As others have said any Bethesda game. They all need it once you beat it enough time, except maybe Morrowind.

Yah its a requirement almost at this point to mod Bethesda games since they basically make the modding community fix games.

I knew. Why can't they release a good game that you can play for a couple playthroughs before needing to modd it?

waste of money. the modders fix their game for free

Rimworld. Modding Rimworld is a requirement if you want to do anything specific. As each round of new mods allows you to create custom races, worlds, stories and scenarios.

Bethesda games kinda require mods, Minecraft and cyberpunk have some pretty cool mods too

Mostly fighting games, costumes are expensive and mods offer so many more choices

I do enjoy cyberpunk mods. there are quite a few good ones

"Costumes". I also get those though a lot of fighting never actually happens. At least not in the game.
Bethesda games. Oterwise they're just boring
Always mod Bethesda games.
I love how its universal that Bethesda as a whole gets modded

It feels like it's an obvious choice, but there's Minecraft and Skyrim for content, and other older games for compatibility or bug fixes, like New Vegas

I want a New Vegas remix so badly. My PC just does not like new vegas. ive tried everything. it just cant go longer than 5 min without crashing. NOw arguably thats just New Vegas but still. i miss playing it. And yah thats fair. Skyrim is fun but after a few playthroughs youve basically done everything.
