What do you prefer in your VNs? 2dcg or 3dcg ?

It depends. I usually prefer 3D, but some 2D projects really appeal to me, specially if the art is good, and/or if the game is a parody of something I grew up watching. Four Elements Trainer is a good example of that, I was entering my teenage years back then and Avatar was full of hot girls.

I have a slight preference for 3D, but 2D is also great. I think I end up playing a lot more 3D games, just because it's much easier for devs to churn out scenes (especially animations) with a 3D engine rather than hand drawn, so those updates get pushed to me faster. I wonder if that'll change in the next few years with gen AI 2D art becoming so common.

It would greatly depend on the quality of the 2D or 3D. Really bad 2D makes it almost unplayable for me, but really good 2D will always be better than any 3D.
So, 3D for me is the 'safe zone' where I tend to tolerate everything as developers have to go out of their way to make exceptionally ugly renders.

I think it depends on other factors. 2DCG is almost always drawn/made from scratch or custom made, whereas 3dcg has a tendency to reuse the same assets etc. If I want to be immersed I'd probably go with 3dcg. 2dcg more focuses around less realistic stories and find it easier to come across.

I prefer 3dcg

I can vibe with both, you're really missing out on some great 2DCG stuff if you limit yourself to 3DCG, and vice versa.
