if the game have good history, and animation i can enjoy them but if the game are simple for example text based with a simple and generic history that have noting to do with the original series and too much grind, it hard like them
Your post, with quotes, says it all. I've never seen ANY "Buffy" or "Morty" but I thoroughly enjoyed "Call of the Siren" & the original "Rick & Morty: Another Way Home" (Haven't tried the Ren'py version).
That said, I'm sure I would have enjoyed them MORE if I understood the source material.
I think a lot of parody games are pretty sub-par koikatsu models with default animations. The ones that actually emulate the main series artstyles are the ones that I tend to enjoy.
Kinda cringey. It's fine if I don't know/care about the original. But even then you can sometimes feel how the dev lusts over the characters which is gross. The only decent parody game that comes to mind is Witch Trainer or just all Akabur games in general, I think it's because the characters don't resemble the ones they supposed to be parodying at all, feels more like Akabur's original characters cosplaying them
Sometimes i quite like them if the character designs stay nice but a lot off them sadly make the characters look way too different and unattractive to me (like i don't mind honey select but if it's used for characters from a cartoon they just look uncanny)
If I know the IP that the parody game is about I tend to like it.
I never take the game too seriously or anything, but seeing the characters that I know from the IP in porn situations is fun.
I grew up and live in a country with a different cultural code, most of the objects of the parodies are simply unknown to me. And therefore, the "parodies" themselves do not cause me anything but bewilderment. That's why I just skip these games. No, I don't blacklist them, I just ignore them when I see them among the "latest updates".
