For now, mime and apollo have full control over LC and will be handling site decisions going forward. I’m stepping back from making site changes for now and letting them decide how to move LC forward. - Jack Of Blades

Officially? Nothing. I'm on disability. Though I do still "volunteer" help with code, QA, and/or deployment pipelines for a few people.

I'm a pimp. Where's my fucking money, bitch?

you people have cool jobs

so.... you are commander Shepard?

There's a reason there ain't going to be a reality show following the day to day travails of an engineer.

- Look, he stares at the code on the screen
- He hits F5 to advance the debugger.
- He stares at the screen
- He stares at the screen
- He gulps down more coffee
- Oohhh, action, he rolled the mouse wheel and pressed F10
- He stares at the screen
- Another Teams meeting

The hordes of freaky supermodels throwing themselves at you make up for it.

Jokes aside, it's pretty ok when you get to do what you like and is good at. Technical stuff rather than people and management stuff. These pay better though, but it is what it is.

I can brag about being groped by two consecutive HR managers at my previous job, so there's that.

Software engineer
I turn coffee into lines of code :coffee:🤓

Add Adderall and I'm there too.
I'm not a Software engineer though, it's just the tool I use to turn physics and Chemistry into something that can calculate what's needed.

Aren't we all, in some metaphorical way?

A lot of software development for oil and gas application. But, I'm not a software engineer or even a good programmer. It's just the tool. Physics, chemistry, modeling, domain knowledge is what I know.
The software's in question are very technological simulation packages. Simulating thermodynamics, pipe flow and so on.
Also general subject matter expert that can be dragged in on projects, troubleshooting for and assisting more junior engineers.

I work in a dubbing studio (NOPE, not as a dubber, I'm a phonic/technician and NOPE sadly we don't work on porns 😁)
