What is up with vikingfile and the persisted links? It seems every file I download from there now gets flagged as having malware. Is everyone else seeing the same?

I never use vikingfile as I think they have malware embedded somewhere as I always get popups even clicking on anything there

It's fine on my end, but I block ads and so should you. You don't want your PC to get an electronic STD, do you?
In fact, it may be my favorite mirror at this point because I always get good speeds and there seems to be no limit on traffic.

even without an adblocker the most they do is like a link pop-up you can just close it and download the file you want

My computer just puts up a red warning and not letting me continue, even with ad blockers on xD XD

Use the Add-On "Popup Blocker (strict)", it prevents all kind of forced tabs and is more reliable than any adblocker in that regard. It just shows a short message that a link wants to be opened, but it stays on the site. Obviously don't use it alone, always with a full adblocker, like uBlock Origin.
With Viking Files, you simply click several times on the download button and all the redirects gets ignored until the real download starts.

But the Add-On is indeed strict, it can be annoying during day-to-day browsing, simply deactivate it, as long as you browse on trusted sites.
