VN Ren'Py VAM Uncanny [v0.8.0] [Goosenards]

imo, it is not about matching reality, it is about explain the plot itself. If later on the plot do explain that Cora's ritual have such magic on their first encounter that it can explain itself. but for now, it is a plot hole to yet to be fill.

I do have faith the dev will fill it same way later on, because the dev seem to realize the importance to do so; in previous Rational Chaos, there is a weird hole that the MC is just a stay home do nothing guy who just happen to pay everything and a burned house. At least, the dev try to go with retired police to explain the financial stage of MC here, which is a improvement.

Still, I dont think a cop retired in late 30 to early 40 can live on, I feel like it is more of a gap year than real retirement.
Or soon the MC and Cora are soon going to rely on magic for food, unless the MC was a dirty cop with a secrete bank account
Just say he hit the Powerball or got super lucky with some investments. If you need an MC to be richer than he should be, there is always a plot device for it. Hitting it big with crypto is also a popular explanation.

You got to add a bit of suspension of disbelief to it. > Why didn't they kill Voldemord with a sniper rifle? Because then there is no plot. They had to be stupid and stick to magic.
I suspended my disbelief when the mc didn't immediately get find out through body cam footage

I know a lot of cops, and I am even related to some. While not fully uniform across all departments and cities; a retired cop who works at least 20 years can usually expect to retire with full benefits and about 75-90% of his salary for the year he retired. It can be enough to live off of, especially if he is single and/or frugal. Smart investments or putting plenty into savings can make retirement even easier, and it seems like the Mc was living within his means. But adding a second person to the mix and wanting to stay on the move is going to cut into that more than if he just had a normal retirement. Still, it isn't necessarily a plot hole in-and-of itself, especially this early into the story.

it might be, if you are not hide identity. MC in game have to move from the Pink to a worse apartment (he admitted to himself it is worse and feel sorry for Cora) because identity issue.
I agree on the early part though. still I think the dev is setting up for this. not a bad thing to have plot hole, it only become a problem left unchecked with sounding device at the end.

He's alone, no? Living in a rather humble apartment. He can always have buttload of cash that he saved up over his lifetime. More than enough to last for long time. After all, MC and Cora trip is more or less a vacation. Unless they are spending like crazy on daily basis, whatever MC has saved up should be more than enough. On top of the retirement money.

ayoooo 11 days for public release. Greatest news I've heard today

I hope we get something hot in this update, because so far it's been pretty weak in that regard.

We are getting closer.
