I can really recommend Mr. Inbetween.

Oh does Sliders count as Canadian? The first two seasons were filmed in British Columbia at least even if the majority of it was filmed in LA.

The show that I was referring to is Corner Gas by Brent Butt. Easy going comedy.

Since a lot of people are grinding to get LCs, why not get recommendations on something other than adult games while grinding? I will post a few that I like:
  1. Death in paradise
  2. Father Brown (the new one)
  3. Midsomer Murders
  4. Sherlock Holmes (with Jeremy Brett)
  5. The lLst Detective
  6. Shetland (excluding the newest season 8 and onward)
  7. Inside No. 9
  8. Don't forget the driver
  9. Heartbeat
  10. Doc Martin
  11. IT Crowd
  12. Murdoch Mysteries
  13. Mystery Road
  14. The Heart Guy
  15. Line of Duty
There are more but I will let others post them.
Can't say I've ever watched many at all. I guess the only two that would qualify would be Benedict Cumberbatch's Sherlock, and Doctor Who (Doctors 9 through the early half of 12. the series ended there and they never made anything else ever.)

I actually think the Australian version of Survivor is better than the original.

Yep, Benedict's Sherlock is good.

rating is pretty good. too bad it's not on acorn.
Yeah, you might have to sail the high seas for it... Check out the trailer on Youtube. You might like it. The good raiting is very much deserved. Sadly no more seasons are planned.

that sucks. premise sound like Ray Donovan.

-IT Crowd
-Black Books
-An Idiot Abroad
-Mr. Inbetween
-The Inbetweeners

Black books is good. I think I started with inbetweeners - not sure if I finished. An idiot abroad sounds like Rick Steve's show but with some comedic aspect.

Keep the recommendations coming.

Doctor who but I haven't got around to watching it for awhile

all of the cw shows were made in bc

Netflix has a huge warehouse were they make alot of shows and only hire usa workers in surrey bc.

altered carbon was made all indoors there

So there is a shit ton of shows made in that country because for years certain provinces pay up to 50% of the budget for the film/show like Europe years ago but the shows are always region locked or they never spread the budget locally. Did you know trailer park boys took a massive financial hit because nova Scotia got rid of there movie/show credit

Another note stargate sg1 and its spinoffs were filmed in bc they also used real p90's in that show yet it is illegal to own any firearm that is not bolt action/single shot.

There is great articles out there going on about the new hollywood yet very very few of that cash was given to the locals.

The usa pissing on canada is so bad that during the filming in Vancouver of that god auful batwoman show a production assistant was hit by equipment the people that knew her had to raise cash like beggars to afford basic care the show just got a replacement nothing was delayed

SO yeah great question but do you research because there is alot of shows filmed in that country that hide deep in the credits that they did. Oh xmen movies also i remember reading the 3rd one i think was so loud people complained it even started a fire but 0 fucks were given to the locals for compensation.

I don't watch CW shows so wouldn't know.

A lot of interesting facts (i didn't validate them but I will take your word on it). It is disgusting what hollywood is doing and taking advantage of you-can-fill-in-the-blank. Terrible to hear about things like being hurt on the job and no one gives a shit about it.

I wouldn't call them Canadian shows, with a small exception, if they are made by film/show makers from USA. Exception being that it shows Canadian culture and that it is clear that it is about people living in Canada. In a nutshell, being filmed in one location is not the same as being from that location . I am not into sci-fi / fantasy shows so I don't care where they are filmed.

The purpose of this thread of a simple one. I get some new recommendation of shows made in different countries, and at the risk of repeating myself, and about people in those countries.

only fools and horses is quite old but still hold up with the comedy
I have watched it and I liked it. Because of that show I watched A Touch of Frost but couldn't finish the entire series as I found David Jason's character a bit stiff and annoying.

Being digging the British Comedy panel shows, like taskmaster.

I was introduced to Father Ted, quite a laugh with this one.

Since no-one has mentioned it yet, Peep Show.
I have not seen this one. Looks like a good one. sucks that it's on amazon's freevee channel. I mostly watch on britbox or acorn tv.
