I thought that's the final ending and thanks for correcting me.
Could you tell me the name of the sequel or does it have the same name?
It's "The Lost Guardian". It's only had the initial release so far, so just a small amount of content, but it's certainly setting the stage for things going forward. Be aware that the first release gets heavy by the end, even in comparison to this game. I jumped into it right after finishing The Guardian and it hit me pretty hard, so just make sure you're in a good headspace before going into it.

What is the difference between the Routes (or Path as the game calls them) love, control and fear?

I say this for the game or for its future, I'm going to start and this came up to choose from

As far as I know, the only difference is in how (some of) the scenes play out, more specifically the sex scenes. I think the actual overall story remains the same, but how you interact with the girls (or at least Natalie's daughters, and a couple other girls with their own separate choices I believe) will be different. I'm not sure if the actual sex scenes - i.e. the animations and whatnot - will be different, or if it's just the text, outside of the full route differences that are more obvious later on, which I'll avoid spoiling, but will be quite obvious when they come up.

What I will say, though, is that aside from a handful of choices, very few of the choices you make ultimately change things in the grand scheme of things. And to note, the choices you make in this game are not set in stone when you move on to the sequel, as it does not bring over your save from this game, but allows you to set your (relevant) choices again when starting the new game.

That being said, I've only ever played the "love" route, personally. So if anyone has actually played multiple routes can jump in to say if there are any significant differences between the routes, that would be appreciated.

Thanks for the explanation, based on what I've read about the characters and the story that will unfold, I'm about to follow the route of love, which is what I follow most of the time, especially being a guardian and not wanting to provoke fights between them, otherwise I was tempted for control too, but as I always follow my heart, I'm on the side of love:D.

Honestly, I enjoyed the love route, personally, and you still do get a bit of controlling content at times as well, with certain girls. I'll say that - at least to me - as the game goes on, love certainly feels more fitting to how the MC would want to act towards his daughters than the others based on the MC's past, but I won't spoil why I think that's the case, obviously.

Question . Is it possible to remove the gallery mode from the game, because I want to go through the game scene by scene to see if I've missed any scenes along the way?

Have you tried deleting the persistent file in your saves folder?
I went to my local disk, to my user and then I deleted the game from there to the renp'y folder and that's how it worked

For the insane amount of time this game takes to end, it has one of the most disappointing endings ever made for a visual novel

I can see that, however, it really does not end here because the sequel picks up the events of this game with a time skip. It tied up enough things while setting up the plot for the sequel, which you should enjoy if you enjoyed this.

I do think it will remain to be seen if the sequel ends up resolving the issues led to this game - specifically the ending - leaving a bad taste in many players' mouths, but I'm cautiously optimistic.

What I do hope for, though, is that Seath does either make choices actually matter, or avoids giving choices that seem like they should matter (or even were explicitly stated were going to matter) but ultimately end up not mattering regardless, like this game had. That was a massive disappointment in a lot of cases, give how long the game was, and how often there were (seemingly) choices that you had to make multiple times so it seemed like you were REALLY reinforcing a specific decision, only for it to ultimately mean nothing in the end because the payoff it seemed to be promising never materialized, or the rug was pulled out from under you immediately and showed you that your choice didn't really matter either way.

And even the beginning of the sequel shows that a good chunk of the choices made in this game were superfluous, because they aren't part of the choices you can set when defining your past going into a new game.

But honestly, I can see people's feelings going either way with the sequel, depending on how Seath takes it. I hope for everyone's sake that he gives it a satisfying ending (even if it's not exactly a happy one, given his style and the circumstances of the story and characters at this point), but I can also imagine it ending up being disappointing for a lot of people if everything isn't handled just right.

Fantastic game, but man, a lot of the writing is kinda bleh.... Characters have strange motivations, keep secrets for no reason and never ever talk to each other and explain anything when they should. It's very convoluted and somewhat contrived. Other than that, the game is great. Love the models, the characters and the lighter writing. I think I'm nearing the end. Looking forward to the sequel.

I've never played this through to the end. Slightly hesitant now due to some of the comments but what i have played is extremely good. Oh well here we go....

Frustrating. That kinda sums up the characters lol. It was an enjoyable ride though.

The character models are great and the sex scenes are hot but the plot... Jeez. It tries to be sophisticated but it ends up being just convoluted. The plot was hard to follow and, frankly, uninteresting.

Also, it might have been nice to have a bit more control over the MC. There's no path for not being an asshole -- just how much of an asshole you are. Sometimes, he's so creepy, it's really off-putting.

It's the No. 1 of all family games

I finally completed this game after a long hiatus. I sort of paused playing it after Seath said he redid a lot of the earlier scenes in the game, and I forgot the storyline. Replaying from the beginning all over again, I have to say the plot still gets bogged down and overly complicated midway through. I know there are a lot of tie ins with Seath's other games, but that, on top of the meta, really makes this AVN feel bloated towards the end.

Having said that, I do still enjoy Seath's games as he's one of the few devs willing to go dark with his characters, and I look forward to the sequel (and his other games). I'll probably disable the meta going forward though, tbh.

But.... you DO have to admit, the "remastered" did quite alot of adding new scenes with the smols, right? I loved the new scenes....

Cant disagree with the rest tho. The story is convoluted, plot holes on end, crossovers that made it worse, META.....i did actually found it funny!, and...a very bad ending. Unsatisfied.

Still one of the best Smols game out there! ..... Even the story itself wasnt THAT bad....I've seen worse!

Yeah, I did the same thing as you just before the sequel's first release. I had initially played up some point during the Australia vacation when it was a current update, and then didn't play any of it again until it was complete, and started from the beginning, as I said, just before the sequel saw it's first release a few months ago, and I had a similar opinion on it. The lewd stuff is all pretty fantastic, but I found the story to get really frustrating at times, especially because of the reliance on connections between the other games (which thankfully he has said will not be the case in the sequel). I also really disliked the fact that so many of the choices - specifically ones that explicitly told you they were meaningful/would affect the future/etc - ended up being entirely irrelevant. And yeah, I made the mistake of enabling the Meta again when I went back into it, forgetting how overlong and pointless it always is (while not adding to the story nor having any lewd content whatsoever) and definitely regretted it. Every time I heard that damn Friend's theme I let out an audible groan and just started spamming my clicks to get through (after rolling back to get that damn music to stop playing) to something actually important again.

I hope that the sequel can continue with the good parts from this game while leaving out some of the weaker parts of if, and hopefully doesn't wait too long to wrap up the dangling story threads leftover before focusing on the new story, and hopefully having it be more streamlined and straightforward.
