Unless MC/Visa did it themselves dunno why SS would give a fuck what the UK thinks or wants, last I checked SS is in the US. I mean when A T F was banned in France awhile back they simply posted instructions on how to circumvent the ban (VPN, TOR, etc), not blocked all of France's IP addresses like most pussies er, porn sites would like a lot of sites are now doing (not that it matters much with VPNs anyway; get asked for ID = simply move IP to one where they don't have those ridiculous laws that should be ignored by everybody anyway).
Somebody with a huge amount of pull is screwing with the ability to process money derived from adult activities. Part of it stems from a lawsuit against Visa being allowed to continue for processing payments from Porn Hub when those funds were made by selling pornographic images and videos of children. We know that a group of activists in Australia managed to do some damage, but activism rarely has the amount of pull needed to move a system this way. Activists can topple something if it was already leaning, but rarely have they ever been successful (in any political direction) changing things through activism alone. Based on what other devs on SS have said, SS started going after foreign devs. For example, Marche from Director games, had halted development of his games because SS froze his accounts until he could straighten out some tax issues. I think SS received nastygrams from foreign governments, and was basically told to follow foreign rules on foreign devs or get cut off from the banking system. Visa and MC are supposed to be running without any bias, if it is legal it gets processed. However, they are not doing that, and somebody with a hell of a lot of pull must be behind that shift, but we don't know who. It can't be a small activist group from Australia, there is simply no way a few assholes from down under would have the ability to enforce a moral code on what used to be untethered capitalism.
