Sound on/off

Most low quality VN usally are completely silent, compered to higher quality ones which usually have a great sound design.
For music it's kind of hit or miss, one of the best examples that come to mind is Neko Paradise.

Mostly OFF. Perhaps BaDik is the only exception because of its music, but it is only at low volume. I'm also bothered by the "voiceovers" and moan/sex sounds.

Plenty of decent ones don't add music/sound because they see it as wasted since many, if not most, people mute.

Have always played with sound off. Only one I can remember switching sound on was for Space Corps when they had the music video style scenes but still don't know why I did it.

Music off sound on with very rare exceptions.

I prefer headphones, but turned very low.

I usually turn every single audio off in the options as soon as I launch a game. The sounds make me cringe.

very low. fully silent feels weird. If there are voices I turn volume a bit up

sounds are always on. If there is voice acting, I do it very quietly or turn it off. I don’t like it when lines are voiced. only moans and similar sounds
As for the music, it depends on the game

Sound is the lowest priority. You can simply get rid of it in every game I feel. If I have to hear what sounds like a dragon ball z character with a pitched voice I'll going limp

I always turn the sound down to zero in VN games. Just wondering if anyone keeps it on, and games that have decent sound.
Yeh, i agree. Sound off is better. Often enough, the sound is annoying.

Depends as most games use generic music but some are designed to have audio on to enhance the experience.

Some good examples are Being a DIK and ARTEMIS.

Also, in quite a few the sex/moaning noises are too loud.

It depends if there is proper music/sound added. Atm very few games have it which makes the scenes/game more enjoyable. But mostly I have it at very low.

I personally always keep the music off and the sound effects on. I like to have the game in the background and go back and forth between more than one thing, so the music can get rather annoying.

The music is usually annoying for me.

Music in about 10%, Sound Effects in about 25% and Voice Acting always muted.
