Siren Song Progress Report - 9/13/26
Cue sound effect: crypt door creaking open
Hello? Is there anyone in here?
(Acoustic guitar notes drift through the darkness and a light, airy whisper says, "Yes...you are..." Then a bright, bubbly female voice giggles in the shadows and says, "Welcome back to Siren Song, silly!")
That's right! We're back!
I am actively designing the different settings and environments and beginning the rough draft of the script for chapter 4 of Siren Song.
As I stated in my last update, this chapter will focus on Bobby and Charlotte's arrival to the actual festival, called the Sharkbite Twisted Tour (Sharkbite is the name of an energy drink in the Jonesyverse).
I think that since Siren Song is my only project for the foreseeable future, I might do shorter installments. After the New Year's Day(e) finale, which was comprised of almost 2000 renders, I think it might be fun to dial it back a bit, and make chapter 4 a bit more focused. Maybe 500-750 renders and only cover one day as opposed to how I've been covering multiple days.
This will mean less of a wait between updates for me and you. As for an ETA for chapter 4 - I'm hard-pressed for anything concrete. Christmas, maybe? Mid January? With the shorter chapter, I'd hope to be more on the Christmas side of that estimate.
It's still really early in the process, so this might change if Charlotte decides she wants to become a juggler or something. Who knows with that girl...
This chapter will be mostly about Bobby and Charlotte, but I'm sure we'll probably see Willow and maybe some of the other cast appear in there as well. We'll get a tour of the festival grounds, and meet some of the other bands. Charlotte will get her first taste of the festival touring life, and probably a second taste of...other things.
Chapter 5 will be about how well everyone adjusts to the festival life and how all of these new bands and characters interact with each other and with Bobby/Charlotte.
Without having written more, it's difficult to say more, so I'll leave it here.
I'm so happy to be back in the driver's seat of this story again.
Pedal to the metal, baby, past the red line on the tach!
Love Y'all,
~ Jonesy
