If I were to count how many times some of the best action in a VN has been obscured by a dialog box that you cannot get rid of, the number would be greater than one which is already too many. If anyone knows a workaround or a thread already dedicated to this topic please let me know. I play mostly apks

Most the time you can adjust it so its no big deal, it is also nice to have when reading from a distance.
what I do not like are ones that large graphic for a text box that eat away at half the screen.

Theres usually a key to hide it, common one is H or pressing in the mouse wheel.

I play mostly apks so it could be an issue with the porting process. I guess I could try joiplay and loading windows versions of the games instead.

Most games have a text box opacity setting that when set to zero removes the box. I think I've only played one game that didn't have it.

if you hate it with all your heart enough..... then you could always de-compile the renpy game (very easy) and replace the dialogue box texture with another, or remove it outright 😁

there is also this reddit thread ..... maybe it will help you

Pressing H usually removes the text. Never got this problem but I mainly play text games so there is only text :ROFLMAO:

Search y_outline.rpy. Hides most of the boxes. Put it in game folder. Works on both mac and PC.

All the APKs I've played allow you to adjust the the dialogue box opaqueity in the settings or have a button along the bottom to hide it
