Sex scene in every update or okay to skip the earlier chapters?

There's no reason the MC can't watch a porno if you don't want them jumping their sister in the first couple releases, maybe he sees the object of his desire doing yoga or in a towel after leaving the shower and it makes the MC start thinking of "things" which leads to a quick search or three on CornHub, maybe those searches end up in the step-family category and the video that most catches our hero's eye looks remarkably like someone he knows...

it really depends on the game and the premise set.
For a game like dating my daughter, it's fine if the season finale is sex with the Daughter, but the dev can(should?) add optional love interest along the way...

You cannot expect to corrupt the daughter/dad within a couple of updates.
An aunt/niece with loose morals is fine though.

Start adding them when your talent is good enough to make decent animation. It is hard to get past the first chapters when the beginning animations suck.

It really depends on what kind of game and update you are talking about. (Really, all these questions about rules for games are like that.)

There are lewd games with zero sex entirely. There are games with a strong focus on story, where not every content update has to include sex. (Though it usually doesn’t hurt.)

Or there are broken games like A Town Uncovered where users might beg the creator to finally fix all the missing images and broken scenes so much they’d be glad if some updates did that without adding any content at all.

I actually enjoy the buildup if a writer knows how to do his job, and would prefer just waiting for good payoffs over the need of sex every update

It depends somtimes the buildup makes it worth it other times its better to have tons of H scenes.

Should a game have a sex scene starting from version 0.1? Or, should the Dev hold off until the scene feels like part of the story?

I've noticed that in games where the story is more of a slow burn, the Dev might include a throw-away sex scene in versions 0.2 or 0.3.
Sometimes it's a character that was introduced only for the sex scene and just in time for the scene. Sometimes it's a daydream about a random character you might not see again.
I understand that the Devs feel pressured to give something since (usually) people are paying for the games and don't want to pay for no payout.
If it feels forced, then it feels like it undercuts the story.
So, my question: Should the sex scenes wait until they feel part of the story even if that could take a few updates?
Or, do you not mind a sex scene that doesn't necessarily feel like part of the story itself?

If a dev's players are so horny they require a sex scene in the first draft of the game, the dev should just link to a pornhub video.

I think if a developer wants to make a great game with a big following, they have to focus on the story first. That being said, I also seen games like Halfway House that gets increasingly tedious and becomes more and more of a tease because the story stalls a bit and it doesn't build up to much.

I know I am in the minority on this but I am fine with no sex for a long time in a game .. but only if it is a good story with emotional character development (something that is lacking in most AVNs unfortunately.)

If a game isnt giving interesting characters and emotional development in the story then it better give some good lewd scenes

I feel like the Dev should hold off until its needed or has some contributing part of the story even if its small. The biggest one that I hate is the daydream scenario that you mentioned. It feels like such a cheap move cause the ones that I've seen always make it seem like its actually happening and then say sike.

It's a sexgame...

Besides the point that a slew of morons helped establishing DLCs and Early Access (aka. Not finished games) crap, the emphasis is on sex. So no sex means it's a crappy visual novel and I am not interested in consuming that.

Burger without meat but I get a ticket with the name of the cow that gets slaughter eventually?

its a difficult balance, you want to entice your audience early on, showing that you're not just a great writer - but depending on game mechanics, if you need to grind 'points' one way or the other, or if its a VN with a set story arch.

I don't play beyond 0.1 if there's no sex scene, with the multitude of other options, why would I want to get blueballed?
That sex scene need not be the full combo of sexual interaction with a main LI, but could be something that becomes a driver for further history - for instance: MC has a vested love interest in a girl, but her friend has the hots for you and at some point her friend manage to get MC drunk/drugged/horny enough to do something sexual with MC - how hardcore that thing is should depend on the setting you're going for. If you're making a fuckfest, you're making a fuckfest, but if you're angling for a more 'realistic' approach to relationships and sex, then having MC and LI's friend making out, maybe a handy or similar, could be a good start and a good setting for some intrigue.
Meh, as said its difficult, so many variables that need to be taken into account, but showing sideboob and bikinibottom just ain't going to cut it in this market ;)
Thats just my two cents, best of luck going forward.

in update 0.1 it is possible to add a dream scene or something like that, so as not to spoil the main story itself

Doesn't have to be the first, but if it's like the 3rd or 4th it's like, come on. That handjob shit doesn't count - don't know why devs are so obsessed with it. Blueballing sucks the festering cum out of a dead skunk's rotting dick.

I usually don't even check the game out in 0.1 unless I EXTREMELY enjoy what I see in the screenshots. I just save it if I like the tags/artstyle and move on until it's more developed.

I also like games with a lot of content and slowburn development (corruption) so I'd assume a lot of the games that I liked didn't really have a lot of sexual stuff in the early versions. More recent example would be Star Knightess Aura. Can't wait for it to be finished, but if my memory isn't failing me it was pretty dry in "content" at the start.

I'd rather they set the stage for that rather than just throwing it out there.

I think it depends on the game, but if it doesn't have sex and it is an adult game, they should at least have some form of teasing in there. Upskirt or nip slip would be a start for an example

Teasing is just annoying.
