For a drama: Band of Brothers, great WW2 mini series set in the Western Front campaign
For a comedy: Mystery Science Theater 3000, guy gets trapped in space and is forced to watch bad movies so he builds robot friends to keep his sanity and watch the movies with him

If you're leaning more toward sci-fi and drama, I'd also recommend Severance — unsettling but really well written, and Dark, which is probably one of the best time-travel stories ever put on screen. The Expanse is another strong one — dense, political, and grounded space sci-fi.
Plenty there to keep boredom in check for a while.

FUBAR... Arnold does TV. Its an action type show with CIA guys shooting bad guys. And if you have the capabilities..."The Boys" superheroes with problems...

Criminal Minds is a pretty good longer drama cop show.
If you can handle another language and want some quick action porn Bloodhounds is a Korean action drama only 8 eps though.
An older sci fi show i have been getting back into is Falling Skies.

Band of brothers is great but god damn its heavy at times

Chernobyl. It's a helluva ride all the way through.

Also, Downton Abbey. It's not a chick show there is a huge amount of adult content in there wrapped around a period piece all shown on PBS with gorgeous scenery and astounding writing.
