Reasons for dropping a game

When the dev starts adding content I don't like or updates become short and slow

Any game that forces repetitive tasks in order to grind stats and/or money is a huge incentive for me to uninstall and move on.
I've never understood the need for sandboxes in visual novels, they're just a waste of time.

One time when my save was erased, the game didn't have a skip forward button, and it was very long on top of it. I didn't want to click hundreds of times to get back to my old save spot.

Right? I'm playing a damn porn game, so I don't really feel like clicking through making my character go to his day job for a month to grind money so I can unlock a new scene.

I drop games when I get bored of the story or the scenes. In fact I have a bit of an issue with finishing games I start.

Games that put the MC in stupid situations or force you to make terrible decisions without any benefit, and games that take forever to get to any sex scenes. Being A DIK is a good example of all 3 IMO.
I wouldn't mind futa/transformation games more if they let you choose to have sex with just females. If the MC was born with a dick or found herself with one i don't want fuck anyone else that also has a dick. Strap-ons are fine. Female protagonists who have straght sex are fine. I don't mind AI art but if it's too uncanny valley it creeps me out. If it looks more anime or 3dcg style it's fine. If the game is too hard or complicated to figure out I might drop it, like some of the Japanese-made games, but I usually just keep trying.

I tend to drop games that each chapter is a separate game and you had to play ch1 fully or it doesn't let you start ch2
if Chatpers 2, 3, 4 etc... can be played as a stand alone it's all good

slow update with little content, many paths that are sometimes not clear, stories with plots out of context, like you're playing a romance but suddenly you're involved with the mafia wtf. that's clear when it's not a comedy.

I dropped Between Salvation and Abyss because it seemed like one long string of prolapses. I dropped WVM when Braindrop gave every model a serious case of duck lips and started constantly making bullshit excuses for not updating it.

Yeah sometimes I just stop playing when I keep getting sidetracked with too many side plots/quests. I usually come back to it later unless there's a lack of development for said side path. In that case what was the point? I also hate it when a game adds in too many quests that it takes away from the main storyline.

It's a pathetic way to extend "play time"

Another thing I hate is when there is a character that I really dislike but the game doesn't give me the option to send him to hell.

There are several things but these are the biggest to me.

Terrible dialogue/language/spelling - I do not care what country you come from. Translators work only if you use them! Learn how to read a dictionary and get your spelling right. If you can’t frigging type, get someone that can! Same goes for dialogue! You carry on hundreds of conversations a day. How is it that so many people can’t put one in writing to save their lives?

Inconsistent details - You’ve seen them, chapter one goes north and then chapter two goes south. The only problem is the characters are still in the north! I have read stories that build and build to a climax that never happens because the dev lost focus.

Pointless grind - Progression is one thing, repetitive gameplay is another.

Dev that ignore fans - I am all for a dev sticking with their vision of what their story is but when your fans are telling you that there are problems, issues and details that are hurting their story, you should listen. You can still achieve your goals but if your average review is 1.5 stars out of 5, something is wrong!

If it has a boring story or to convoluted in a bad way, dropped.
If the animations are clunky as fuck, dropped.
If I have to grind and I know your game has only 3 h-scenes without some sexy shots in between, dropped.
If the game is made by some developer with 10 games in 0.1, dropped.
RPGM games with combat, dropped.
Real life porn games, dropped.

I drop games when they make me give each and every character a name and relationship at the start of the game, when I don't even know who they are. I know they do it for Patreon and bullshit, but they can always just put a patch on some other website and that's it. This is just tedious.

That's quite annoying

When the devs start to obviously drag out the updates with as little content as possible. Or adding NTR to a game that didn't hint at it up to that point
