From my time playing porn games, I've gotten bored, but I've only ever had one game where I played it and liked most of it, but the story and the extreme kinks became too much for me. The game was lessons in love. You wake up as a teacher to a bunch of teenage girls in a world where men don't seem to exist; cue the setup for a school harem. The girls were really great personality wise and were really fun but things got a lil too real for me as their trauma got me way too sad to be horny.
Especially this character which is revealed that she loves you out a desperate need for love that she didn't get from her father and she at her age doesn't want to face the world alone, resulting in her developing an emotional dependency on the MC. That was depressing as hell man.
The game also just has some wild horror elements to the story as well. Curious if anyone has ever had anything like that with their time playing games.

I'm more attracted to Male MC stories with possessive male MCs who treat girls cruelly, or Female MC stories where Women are corrupt and I choose the path of corruption, that's all. No need for much empathy. Just enjoy it.

uhm no, maybe bored to death but i think that's not the case you are intrested in

Had more or less the opposite experience with Lessons in Love, I'm in it for the characters and the story at this point and the sex scenes are a nice bonus. Few things are as simultaneously horrifying and gratifying as

Io's utter bafflement that you didn't rape her.

On the other hand I have played games where I knew there was a little bit of something I didn't like, but it was minor or avoidable, and then at some point it just went too far and I had to drop it.

oh yeah multiple times mainly because the game is too long and doesnt show anything interesting that i havent seen before

I've only been filtered out of games a couple of times since I tend to be selective about which game I even start playing. But the biggest causes of me quitting has been:
1) Boredom - caused by developers insisting on stalling progression behind inane grinding (in case of sandboxes) or pointless side-plots and villains-of-the-month that wastes sometimes hours to get back to the reason I started playing the game in the first place: porn.
2) Unexpected themes - caused by throwing material into the game that wasn't signposted in the tags or descriptions that would have otherwise stopped me from playing the game. If I wanted to play a wholesome incest harem game and suddenly the game became a horror drama where you 'have to do X or you will get NTR'd' or if a VN suddenly becomes a sandbox, i.e. the game suddenly isn't what I signed up for any more.
3) Unserious/In-jokey - This happens a lot with games that thrive on a very committed discord space, and suddenly I - an outsider to the development team and their fanbase - have to navigate in-jokes that I have no context for because I haven't been following their channels for the last 2 years. If I feel like an outsider who isn't 'in the club' while playing the game, then I don't want to play the game. I also don't like it when the game tries to be a meme-fest that gets riddled with dated references to things that were funny on Reddit 2 or 20 years ago.

I dont think so , if i see a tags i dont like (guro or stuff like that) no matter how good the animations and character are im not touching that game

I think everyone has a kink that when they notice it in a game they stop playing and never look at it again. Sometimes it doesn't have to be about kinks but game itself, like grinding, poorly written sex scenes, bad story to sex ratio, there can be a lot of reasons.

Yeah, when the game takes a sharp turn and forgets what it wants to be, that's the moment I'm ditching it like a bad habit. My best example is unavoidable content that was avoidable until then. Instant delete.

Boredom. When both the story and sex seem to go nowhere the never ending grind.

There are lot's of games that cause a bad enough reaction that I just drop them.

Can't remember what the game was called and I don'tcare enough now, but it started out really good and I even donated to the creator. After a few uodates they took a huge turn and everything was giant oversized tits and ass, blackmail, rape etc. I totally lost interest and pulled my support. Last I saw the game has a poor rating. A shame because the beginning was interesting and the models were good, the dev just suddenly lost their shit or something.

Not really but I don't really like female MC games just one girl being a whore really doesn't do it for me but to each there own when it comes to games

For me when the game ends in tragedy, such as Hi Emi...loved the game, torn up from the ending

I tend to lose interest when a game goes from a pretty narrow scope focused on a handful of girls in a house/college/workplace or whatever and ends up with some huge complicated sprawling story with tons of side characters and it begins to feel like the dev bought an asset bundle and is just trying to use them all

I've had a few where they just got fuckin weird and it wasn't as immersive I suppose

I've only got bored, but I wouldn't be a real gooner if some fetish took me out of a game

I don't like ones where a male MC treats women cruelly, but what really tends to ruin games for me is blueballing.

Yeah the trauma thing gets to me a lot cause I have some slight trauma I think so I get what you mean. Its sad that most people that write avns are probably traumatized too, or have ptsd from childhood that they have to write the stuff they do so dark. This also happens to me when a character loses their memory, or is starting to lose their memory, something along the lines of mythic manor. Or in Depraved awakening where the story is just really dark. Or if a character is dissasociating. Really anything mental because I am an extreme hypochondriac, and apparently I can get it from fictional characters too, Also, struggle with dissociation, and anxiety. It sucks cause there are a lot of games I want to play, and I just cant. Another good example I had was the mist. Very good game that I had to stop playing cause the story just got to be too dark.
Sorry if I typed this like a madman english is my first language, im just tired lol.

Sometimes a big shift to the meta will take me out of it. Like if you find out the characters in the game are just living in a simulation or dreaming or something
