Honestly, what's next, first it was movies making people violent and inciting crime, then it was mainstream games' fault, and now they're targetting 3DCG/pixel arts and lewd games, where will these 'people' stop before they realise that these crimes and criminals they're attempting to stop were committing these crimes before digital media was even a thing
Exactly. If you see a movie, lets say an old western, where people are shooting each other, will anybody go to the next town to shoot people down?
If you see a crime series with serial killers, will anybody try to become the next one?
If you see gay porn, will you jump onto your best friend to suck him off on next visit?
So why should anybody in the world become a child molester by playing a game with lolita content? Speaking about Lolita, why is the book legal? Why is Shakespeares Romeo and Julia legal? Both was underage regarding to today´s laws.
Noone ever will become criminal just because of playing a game with computer generated characters. Maybe it even could protect real persons one day after others will be able to fulfill their fantasies in a fantasy world. But of course, psychologists would have to do studies about it first. Just my two copper.
In fact I don´t get that point, why anything could be illegal in the world not hurting any real person. But australia isn´t the only country with laws like this. It is the same in many europian countries, where it is even forbidden to openly discuss it, like we do in this thread. Where even written sentences without any picture could bring you into jail. As if it would force everybody, who reads it, to copy it in reality. The sick ones are the ones who made that laws, because obviously they had that thoughts themselves.
